Edited: NASAMS doesn't suck, I SUCK

This thing feel like its sucking hard bro, don’t have many games yet but something like this doesn’t happen when I play any other SPAAs, I shouldn’t have complaint until I have 50 matches minimum but the few matches I had I was able to fire all the missiles include emptying the ammo box, so 24 missiles (around 60 missiles launched total), succesfully intercept a total of like two ammunitions and 0 air kills with the 120. Does it get better when I got the AMRAAM-ER? it’s like a night and day difference compare to irst and hq11

Try running aim 9Xes on it instead 120’s , or 4 x 9X and 2 x 120.
And when facing LDIRCM helos, there’s nothing you can do.

Yeah, Iris is best multiplatform AA by miles.
And why it is simple, it uses radar first on tracking, and after target is in missiles IR range, it starts tracking target on IR seeker, instead radar.

Thank bro so when do I switch to 120? Base on target types?

I use em quite rarely. Big drones are best on those :D Or if some plane is just flying straight line.
9X is more constant since it also uses IR lock on range to track on targets if it goes behind terrain and your missile is on range.

I only use 120 to take pot shots on far targets or against DIRCM helis

Just wait till you get AMRAAM-ER that missile hits stuff you dont expect it to hit

Gonna farm it on assault mode, spent 60 missiles for what I remember two ammunition flags was ridiculous, do the same with IRST and HQ11 I easily flags 30-40 targets. I do hope it does get better because I don’t wanna switch the ammunition around. So far the BUK also seems suck for the few games I’ve taken it out.

Ok, second match, each two missile will secure a kill. Quite an improvement.

The conclusion, NASAMS 3 doesn’t suck, I’m the one who SUCK. I’ve changed my mind, can’t get kill due to stupidity.

Welcome, fellow NASAMS enjoyer! I typically run 5x AIM-9X and 1x AMRAAM-ER just for high alt jets and drones.

Aim120 sucks, if it can barely kill anything when being air launched, then ground launched its even worse bc it looses a lot of energy climbing.

Same goes for Derby SR, thats why the ER has a second booster.

Check out my bug report here for the AMRAAM-ER. It uses the same rocket motor (Mk 134 Mod 0) as the RIM-162, which has 119kg of non-aluminised HPTE and aluminised HPTE solid fuel, which should bring the missile to its calculated and stated top speed of mach 4+ and a range of 50km. Currently, it’s modelled only for non HPTE which only gives a top speed of about mach 2.5 instead of it’s specified mach 4.

Is the current state better than the 9x? Or worse?

Maybe better past like 7km I’d say? And if they’re mindlessly travelling in a straight like 14km? If fixed though it’d be really good. It has thrust vectoring like the 9X and is way better for hitting munitions even within 2km. It’s limited by the radar tbh which is not what my report is about, but it’d significantly better.
