Where did you find this?
Event, premium and tech tree hm?
EBRC my beloved
It’s from a PowerPoint presented by CTAI. There’s a bunch of them floating around on the internet.
Something pretty cool I missed first time round: But the Jaguar’s optics have the option to use a SWIR (short wave infrared) sensor:
In Chassillan’s new book Char Leclerc he mentions that the upcoming XLR will be using a SWIR sensor alongside the Jaguar. Now SWIR is pretty cool as it permits visibility in spite of fog:
Currently, you can hardly make out a target even at 800m even with 3rd generation thermals:
So it’d be pretty good to have on foggy maps. Basically French tanks would be like:
Spoiler
After some quick research, it appears that the only other country that could possibly have access to SWIR on a ground vehicle is Germany with the EOTS III RECCE sight. I didn’t look into Chinese or Japanese technology though. So for the foreseeable future, the only tanks that would have access to this feature are French and the M10 Booker, then down-the-line the M1E3.
What is the cost of a “flechette” of 40CTA?
Jaguar related stuff from eurosatory :
what will the LP Akeron be fitted on?
Tigre mk 3 (2027 apparently), and I also found a jeep with 8 of those. It could also be installed on drones
I think they canceled mk.3 upgrade and instead went with mk.2+ though it should get them either way.
Also are you sure the vehicle you mentioned had LP instaled and not MP because afaik it was only supossed to be mounted on aerial vehicles.
what’s the difference between the two?
From my talks with a pilot at. the eurosatory, they still call it mk3, albeit with less new equipment as originally proposed.
As for the vehicle, here is the panel right next to it. It mentions Akron LP, although the pictures does not reference to the same chassis, so that’s what I went with.
Visibly Akron LP might be usable with ground based systems, although until this Eurosatory only drones and helicopters where mentioned to soon have the capability of using it
Interesting new thanks for the info.
It’s still in development so the final product can still change indeed. Maybe we will see it on Jaguar one day who knows.
We dont really know exactly but the mk.2+ should be cheaper than mk.3
The size of the Akron LP and MP is very different. They would need a complete retrofit of the missile launcher system, especially since it currently folds inside of the turret compartment. Current Akron MP has about 5km of range, while the LP from ground target has about 10-12km for reference.
As for the tiger designation, I believe the fact that the helicopter will transition to fully electric controls garant a passage to the mk3 designation, even if weaponry does not get as updated as it should.
Most electronic changes will also come, as these systems will be integrated in the h160 and nh90, so as to give electronic compatibility across all these aircrafts
I mean it would obviously need some changes to launcher. I meant that now it is just possible now not it is comming any time soon or at all.
We will see there is very little information about it now but i dont think they would discard Akeron LP integration at this point.
I’ve mention it in another thread, but the Akron is still planned for the Tiger mk3.
Actually, from a discussions, here are the stuff that are sure to be coming along :
- new optics
- eletric controls
- new electronics
- more flares (? not entirely sure about that one)
- Akeron LP
- it will loose weight overall
- Later down the line, it will also receive the guided rockets
sounds very promising
Looks like PASEO has a new feature that’s able to detect camouflage patterns. I guess if multispectral to camouflage is ever added in-game this would render it ineffectual.
