Easier way to lock planes with laser?

Having some fun sling KH25MLs at other planes, but I find the process of locking other planes with the laser to be pretty clumsy at times and costing me some easy kills.

Right now my process is to hit the target lock in the general location to get laser looking there, switch to tpod view, then get a lock via target lock. But sometimes its just very difficult to get a lock and times I’ll be spamming it praying for a lock, sometimes doing that causes me to get a lock and lose it as I’m spamming it. Sometimes ill get a lock first try, sometimes 2, sometimes just takes forever.

Also trying to lock planes in 3rd person seems possible, but extremely difficult.

Anyone have any tips for making this easier?

It’s not an anti-aicraft missile… you should be having difficulty using it like that.

Unless I am completely wrong about Kh missiles, but I though they were specifically AGMs and ASMs…

they easily kill people that don’t dodge or are low energy, I know they are not A2A missiles, im not having trouble with the missiles, im having trouble with the lock process.

in my experience this is the best you can really do, sometimes you can get lucky and lock from third person but its rare against planes

Is there any combination of settings or keybinds that would prevent losing a lock when spamming the lock key?

I mean I get it but… it’s outside their mission profile so you really shouldn’t expect it to be practical…

unfortunately not (as far as I am aware), theres only two buttons that do it, activate target point and one other (sight stabilisation I think, but that doesnt even lock targets), and they both overwrite the previous lock

I mean the su25sm3 is 11.7 instead of 11.3 like the su25t/su39, while being basically the same plane missing 2 r60’s that these get even, the only reason its there is the kh38mt is a ghetto fox 3. So in some way gaijin at least recognizes these are used for a2a, unless losing 2 r60 and gaining a MAW is somehow worth a .3 BR increase lol.

Been playing around with them and the kh38 has a range of about 8-10km headon and 4-5 rear aspect and will hit anyone that is flying straight or in a low energy turn. KH25ML has pretty much the same performance, maybe 1-2km less range but isn’t FNF.

They are really good for killing people headed to a base since they fly straight, people in dogfights since they are gonna be low energy, or people that try to run away from you.

the tornados that have guided bombs are 0.3 BR higher than those without, im pretty sure that the su25m3 is a higher br than the su25T because it has a maw system

but yeah kh25s, and kh29s are quite good at shooting down those who arent paying attention
