Hello everyone, and welcome to this new suggestion.
Today, I’m talking to you about a fast escort ship of the E52 class, L’Alsacien.
The Alsacien (F776) is a fast escort ship of the E52 class, built in the 1950s to meet the needs of the French Navy in terms of anti-submarine warfare and escort on the high seas in the tense context of the Cold War. Laid down at the Lorient shipyards in 1956 and commissioned in 1957. Like its sister ships, it takes up the concept of American destroyer escorts, adapted to French specificities, with a fast hull, mixed armament and new generation sonar equipment for the time. Its name pays tribute to the inhabitants of Alsace, a French region with a strong historical and cultural identity.
During its two decades of service, the Alsacien primarily carried out convoy escort, offshore patrol, and anti-submarine protection missions in the French maritime approaches and within allied forces. It participated in numerous NATO exercises and overseas deployments, illustrating the French Navy’s capacity for projection and international cooperation in the 1960s and 1970s. Equipped with 57 mm guns, torpedo tubes, and a Bofors-type anti-submarine mortar, it constituted an effective deterrent against the submarine threat of the time. The Alsacien was withdrawn from active service in 1981, marking the end of the career of the first-generation fast escorts, which were gradually replaced by more modern and versatile frigates.

In game this ship would be the last variant of the post-war fast escorts for the French tree, this one would bring a gameplay rather similar to that of the E50 and E52 class ships while bringing a new unique ship. This ship can already be added in game, in fact none of its armaments are new to the game and it would also excellently complete the French naval tree
