Id love this. It would make matching CAS to my GRB lineups 10x easier.
Respectful no.
This idea would require Gaijin to restrict loadouts once in-game, which would lead to people leaving prior to spawning after seeing the map isn’t correct for your loadout.
There’s a better alliterative than this out there:
DCS’s weapon restriction system for servers would be a better idea overall.
You could have random battles restrict A-10’s 9Ls in a similar way DCS restricts loadouts.
Also allowing custom battles to restrict loadouts and people gain rewards for rooms using official maps without passwords would be good alternative.
Was about to make the same exact thread. Bump for posterity/so mods can see it and sticky it. 83% Yes rate is pretty clear and cut.
Or how about a better idea: Necessities shouldn’t be modules you have to grind. No. HOT-3 is not an acceptable armament at 13.0.
Though this wouldn’t be a bad idea in some certain scenarios. HEATFS cars from ww2 should easily be uptiered, but if they didn’t use those shells they could dynamically be downtiered to where they are now. It’s not a bad idea, but just because you have no chaff and good missiles doesn’t mean F-4 should go and fight vietnam tier jets. Exaggeration but you get what I’m saying.
How about making it depend on modifications? And adding a toggle to weapon modifications as well, would also make the stock grind easier
This’d work too.
In many cases it would also let us have a single aircraft instead of several ones differing only in loadouts, so it would help reduce copypaste. For example, for the F-16A ADF, everyone would be happy: those who liked it without amraams at 12.7 can have it without armaams, and those who like how it is now can have the amraams at 13.3
Of course but the main thing that this would allow, and the most substantial and impactful in my opinion, would be to expand the selection of vehicle that could come to the game in terms of aircraft with a complete loadout without being stuck at brs higher than what their airframe could justify. Take for example something like the A-29 Super Tucano, functionally it’s just a Turboprop that belongs no higher than 6.7 in respect to it’s flight performances, however it can carry a variety of guided bombs (both laser and GPS) and missiles as advanced as the Python 4 which would mean that as a complete package, so without the dynamic brs this thing would either come to the game with a barebones loadout which would make it just another prop and, an ugly and incomplete addition or a complete addition with a hellish grind at near top-tier brs that would see most people wanting to spade it on suicide watch. With dynamic brs this would give the player a choice to not subject themselves to the torture that’d be spading this thing facing jets where it could play at prop br comfortably whilst attaining the ability to use it as a CAS platform later, or as a meme plane at top tier, and so forth.
The above leads me to the conclusion that it’s practically essential that this is implemented if we are to ever see truly complete vehicle additions without the dilemma of giving it it’s full loadout or nah and would solve the concerns of people that advocate for the latter (like not giving the early Mig-29 variant it’s R-73s)
Yeah this would help for a lot of things for sure, they really gotta implement that at some point
I took 4 hours writing a suggestion similar to this that got rejected lmao. But yeah, I agree 100%. I think that separating weaponry from plane capability for BR calculation would make the game more balanced and allow for expanded loadouts without having to worry much about breaking balance. You could add AIM-9M to the F-14A but only if it’s uptiered, or AIM-9L to the F-4E if it’s uptiered and such.
My original idea was that instead of having the loadout change the BR of a plane directly, the available loadout would require a minimum BR, either uptiered or downtiered, that the BR-bracket of the match has to be in.
If you take an F-4E, and you get uptiered to a bracket that the plane’s missiles allow for it to take AIM-9L, it should be available, if not, the limit would be AIM-9J, and if downtiered, maybe just stick with AIM-9E. The main caveat being that this system would be 100% broken without the ability in-game to modify loadout instead of picking presets. It would be annoying to have your ideal loadout as a default and find out in game that a missile is forbidden, stopping you from flying the loadout, so a real time modular loadout customization would be necessary.
This could also be integrated into tank battles, with the shell types.
There are some very specific rules that will get your suggestion refused if you don’t stick to them, for example you gotta have a “I voted no” option in every single poll otherwise it won’t be accepted. Have you asked a suggestion moderator why it was refused?
Yeah, I was told it was too similar to this one. Keep in mind as I was writing the suggestion the “make sure your suggestion wasn’t posted!” thread list didn’t had this post. But Oh well!
+1, with next gen missiles presumably not far off something like this should be implemented.
This would be great to have so that aircraft can get their full loadouts instead of being blocked due to their overall performance.
Personally I think the best way to do this would be to have it based on modifications that can be equipped/unequipped so that if equipped you can take the desired loadout but it changes the aircraft’s BR appropriately.
It would be particularly nice for situation like rank 7 French aircraft that are currently limited to magic 1 when they used magic 2 in their late service: Jaguar, Super Etendard, etc
This prevents duplicates while allowing more options
Yep, also for stuff like the Yak-141 and F-20A where they could get Fox 3 but currently don’t.
It also would be good for helicopters with their air to ground weapons. If we do ever see MmW guidance then dynamic BR’s would let them either play at their current BR with SAL guided weapons or play at a higher BR with MmW. Stuff like the Comanche which currently is stuck with AGM-114B could then get AGM-114L like what was planned.
It would open up a lot of new possibilities for aircraft both old and new.
The Su-39 too right? I saw many people asking for R-27 or something
Yes, also R-77 too.

Yes, PLEASE
Please do this!
BR depens on weapon loadout!
I have M1A1 Click Bait (BR 12.0) and FA-18C Early (BR 12.3) and most of times i get pushed in to high tier matches, as low tier player.
I dont understand why i can only use “M829A” on my M1A1 Click bait, because all other ammo is total useless… lower the BR to use weaker ammo to increase the gameplay.
I whould suggest to remove the laser distance to increase the fun of the gameplay.
i think the way this could realistically work would be that there are certain modifications that change the BR.
basically lets say you have a F/A-18 that only gets Fox-1s as stock, now it sits at 12.3 (stats are arbitrary and only a placeholder), but then when you start to unlock Aim-120s you can check a box to up the BR to 14.0 which now lets you use Fox-3s.
NOW, if you uncheck the box at the Aim-120s you go back to 12.3 AND cannot use any loadout containing any weapon that is featured in the modification line past the Aim-120.
This can be used for Air BRs AND Ground BRs separately, since it doesn’t make a huge difference practically if you got a Aim-120 or Aim-7 as an F/A-18 in Ground RB but it makes a huge difference if you got dumb-bombs or guided bombs. And vice versa it doesn’t make the biggest difference in Air RB if you got dumb bombs or guided bomb but better missiles and so on and so on.
this makes sense since you cant change modification mid-game or while in a queue while you can do that for loadouts.
this could also be used for tanks as well for the different rounds they unlock. but if you use or select the round while the checkbox is unselected, it simply doens’t show up. and if you only select the not-available round then it gives you a full loadout of the stock-round.
and this also could be used to separate SACLOS Helicopters and FnF Helicopters.
Obviously lowtier vehicles are less affected than high tier vehicles.
all in all I think my idea is the best because if it was a bad idea then I wouldn’t come up with it, simple as.
