well it has not been added but they are thinking about it atleast
so can i ask you guys who have played her if she gets the better ap will she likely be “7.0” worthy or do you think she should stay 6.7
Stay 6.7.
Strasbourg stands a very slim chance of being 7.0 worthy but IMO dunkerque was never gonna be 7.0.
Hell no, I pray Gayjins won’t put in on 7.0… Even with a bit higher penetration it’s not any competitor to Amagi, Mutsu, Scharnhorst, Kron… Armor is just too weak for 7.0. But on 6.7 that will be OK, just like a French “Repulse” option, but with more guns with less penetration
And I afraid they will put Strasbourg on 7.0… Looking how they put Courbet on 5.3 and the same ship Dupleix with an extra 10mm(!!!) armour on 5.7… deep sigh
well if they have improved AA they will put it up a br from renown and repulse being sister ships just one has much improved AA which is nice but should not make it a 7.0 ship especialy going by the rule of the battle cruiser goes down a br step of the comparitive battle ship
The same thing was with the last massive report from Admiral_Bofors, and it got rejected…
I guess it’s just means that the bug report was sent to developers. We’ll know on Monday the answer.
I don’t have high hope, but you never know.
If changed to AP I think it gonna have like 600mm of penetration. But with lack of armor on Dunkerque
she’s still going to be 6.7 material( not like that matters much with current compression). At least Dunkerque will be able to be more competitive at the top tier.
well it might be better than rodney is atm from what i have heard
It would be. Rodney either sinks from any hit forward of the bridge below the waterline or makes your reload almost a minute and a half.
Dunkerque have sinking problem too( unless they fixed it). Counter flooding don’t have time to kick in because after unrepairable breech the ship tilts slightly to one said and “leave the ship in 30s” timer
starts. You get kicked out before counter flooding even begin.
But I haven’t played with Dunkerque after the update. Maybe that’s fixed.
6.7 vessels constantly match up with 7.0’s currently. So would rather trade the BR increase for AP now, then they can do something about br decompression later.
Actually Rodney/Nelson should be better, historically. With correct angle their armour can protect their citadel from almost every shell in the game, at least on the distance. And on Dunkerque you can do nothing with your 200mm front bulkhead, also 225mm belt is too thin too for fighting with battleships… So in any position and angle (except reverse) you will have vulnerable spot. And fighting big battleships like Hood it’s not Dunkerque’s actual goal, historically, so it’s Ok and it’s not “top battleship”
But in the game developers have some “balancing” tools, so they can make ship sink really fast after some underwater hits without any chance to pump the water, or make big “rectangles” with crew above the citadel, so you will lose 30%xp just after 1 hit in the center of ship… Or to make so crazy dispersion, that you won’t hit ship even from 5km))
So with these extra tools… Yep, Dunkerque can become more comfortable to play than Rodney
At least (hopefully) the HMS Rodney’s flooding problem is fixed.
Naval Vessels
- HMS Rodney — the ship flooding system has been fixed. Now flooded bow compartments don’t critically impact the trim, so the ship’s bow doesn’t dive as much blocking the fire of main caliber guns.
Far as I understand, Rodney still gonna get easily flooded, but it just won’t affect reload time(maybe?).
I could be wrong
That’s how my most battles went lol
So which of these scenarios do you believe is true then?
- They didn’t change anything
- They changed it but not enough to make a difference
- They changed it thinking it was fixed, but never tested it
Knowing their track record, I think it’s probably number 3, but obviously don’t have any proof of that other than past behavior.
That’s funny considering they didn’t even mention reload time, and only talked about the firing angles while sinking. I’m not happy I spent time grinding this. I should have done what Gaijin wanted me to do and grind the Russian ship that isn’t even a Russian ship. I’m like Charlie Brown with the football every single patch.
It was fixed for ammo getting flooded too easily. Your ship may still sink from the flooding in bow area though. Also please discuss issues regarding Rodney in an appropriate thread.
I started the thread and it was mentioned here in comparison to the same issue happening with the Dunkerque, so it’s a valid comment.
