Dreams Come True: Mistel 2

Its useless. It offers nothing a bomb cant do better and its completly defenseless. A tech tree Ju-88 offers much more boom and is not BR 4.0 (if true its lol lol lol).

That’s the point of DCT events. It’s a goofy vehicle that’s cool to have ingame.

Can people still not test fly it?

Nope, just tried. Still cant

The decal is categorised under British air decals, despite being insignia for 7./KG 66 and 5./KG 200 of the German Luftwaffe

I don’t have the other decal unlocked yet (6./KG 200) to see if it’s assigned to Germany or not. But maybe there is some mistaken belief that these markings are British because they were on Mistels captured and evaluated by Britain?

From the book, Luftwaffe Emblems 1939-1945 (Barry Ketley)

The book does make the mistake that the insignia depicts the boy with his palm raised instead of carrying a chamberstick (symbolic of the unit’s target illumination role), but the issue is that it’s a German unit insignia not British.

I’m also curious to know what the special camouflage for the Mistel 2 is, that comes with completing 7 stages in the event. Since there doesn’t appear to be any renders or screenshots of the special camo in either devblog, and the ingame previews for the vehicle and camo, are not present.
NVM, it’s been datamined now

I still can’t test fly it, did they fail to finish coding it? 😂

You can actually see where the museum removed to covers zu put the guns in. Probably to make it look better.
As you can see, originally it had no guns.

The 190 has 3 spaces for guns, which one has the oil tank fitted ?

The 190 S-8 is only for training and thats not a temporary mod. So why should training planes not have special mods ?

So the first Mistels with 109 were unarmed, so they left it this way ? Even tho later in the war, as this version was used, the air situation was even worse.

Look at the pictures I postet of the S-8. It had no guns. By the way, do you have anything tangible backing up your claim?

as far as we know? yes, the only photo of a non training fw190 mistel that i could find is this one and we cant see whether it had guns or not because of the shadows

Repost them please? I can’t find them.

And I did, There’s a Preserved ex-mistel 190 with no guns. Something which can’t be said for armed mistel mothers.

Pppl are right that event stuff sometimes might get kind of useless, cause its experimental. But Adding it without any gun makes it really absolutely useless. Gajin should think about it. Wouldn’t be the first compromise.

I found that picture too and as you wrote, you can´t see if it´s armed or not. But it is sure no training Mistel.
It also seems that documentation is quite thin.

Just a bit above,

Its a Dreams Come True event, its just for harmless fun

The engine cowl bay for the 13mms. You can see the oil tank here
Untitled-1

IIRC the central ammunition bay for the inboard guns is also repurposed for Mistel missions.
The access panel to the ammunition bay is shorter towards the port side than a normal A8/F8. With another small bay placed between where the ammunition bay would feed in to the gun bay.

That would leave only the outside gun bays remaining viable for armament, but even on regular A-8s the outer armament was often removed to shed weight, extend range, and improve flight performance which would run counter to the changes made to other armament bays to increase the plane’s range and help pilots outrun pursuit.

Thanks for the pictures. Seems you´re right. That´s a bummer. So no weapons it is.

My countrymen were quite desperate, sending them out unarmed in 1944.

I’m currently at work. Doesn’t anyone know if we can test fly it yet?

Not officially yet (I just checked).

Thanks for checking!
