Dreams Come True: Mistel 2

Guess the one they found in the files just has the wrong name

Giving it CCIP certainly is a choice tho lol

Personally not much of an issue with the name iself, something worth more reporting is that they have a lower modifier than comp.b which is 60/40 rdx/tnt, iirc higher percentage rdx/tnt mixes should have better slightly better tnte

Is the plane going to keep the CCIP functionality?

Really cool and unique DCT vehicle. Didn’t see this one coming.

I would GE this but frankly i dont really care enough to rn.
Im gonna save my GE for one of this

So we’re meant to be getting the mistel 2 but it’s called Mistel 3C atm and the name isn’t final?

The Mistel 2 is indeed the version coming, as offically annouced:

People are accessing the vehicle unofficially through the files and seeing a WIP name that is not final or representative. Thats all it is.

tbh i am just gonna grind just for the father and son decal is so peak

Intersting and just asking, is banneable that one wip?

@Smin1080p_WT Currently the fighter immediately explodes like a helium balloon when it touches the Mistel after release. This is very unrealistic and should be fixed. If someone is avid with Bug reporting, please go ahead.

it is still a WIP model, we arent technically supposed to have access for another 2 days, and the files do have a proper model for it

True, but better be safe than sorry.

Well, here we are. To be honest, I didn’t expect the Mistel at all, mostly because I didn’t think it was even a viable addition to the game. But now that we see that it is viable, I’m not surprised it’s a DCT reward, and I’m not at all disappointed to see it. This will be a LOT of fun in GRB, and I look forward to using it.

This also marks the first repeated nation for DCT, rendering the assumption of no repeated nations invalid. The nation of next year’s DCT reward can, therefore, not be accurately predicted (except that Germany is impossible and USA is unlikely), and there is no guarantee that nations like Japan, Italy, and France will ever get DCT rewards (which is honestly disappointing).

I am curious, however, about the viable choices for DCT. Above, Smin said, concerning DCT vehicles:

This certainly applies to the Sturmtiger, XF5U-1, and now the Mistel 2. These vehicles have highly unusual characteristics that force a highly unique playstyle not shared by any other vehicles in the game. However, this does not seem to apply to the TOG II or the KV-7. Are they unique and unusual? Sure. But they are by no means “highly niche”, and they fit into standard gameplay with only minor alterations, not unlike other vehicles already in game. These vehicles have unique characteristics, but they don’t necessitate a highly unique playstyle unique to them, unlike the other three. Therefore, as I see it, the standards for DCT candidacy are, apart from a few common threads (highly requested and a unique design, as discussed in the predictions thread), inconsistent and unpredictable, and determining whether a vehicle is a viable candidate remains just as difficult as before.

(Regardless of the suitability of the Mistel, I am still disappointed to not see the Ki-64. At this point, I fear we may never see it in game, which is a great tragedy.)

cant wait to see the long distance trick shot from the corner of the map and getting a multi kill. LOL… ( i may or may not have plans to try this for myself.)

Now this is the type of wonky unusual vehicle I love.

My only concern is they really nerfed big bombs earlier this year. 2500kg+ bombs are just not what they used to be.

Even though it’s a German weapons event, the reward profile icon isn’t a German pilot. They’re being so thorough it’s hilarious.

Couldn’t they at least prepare a new Germany icon for occasions like this?

35.000 points per stage is too much of a grind. Simply too much.

What will be the ingame blast radius? Is it actually worth more than one of the big bombs?

This is also a shaped charge rather than HE, it’s basically a pile bunker, so I don’t expect it to have great AoE like a big HE bomb. Should also be easier to spot and avoid compared to an incoming bomb.

On the other hand if it really is at 4.0, a shaped charge of that size can do a lot of damage and Germany doesn’t get much donkey CAS at that BR anyway. Could be a good way to ensure that one very annoying KV-1 ZiS 5 on the enemy team gets bonked to the shadow realm lol.

If you can somehow kill TIS MAs with it, it’ll be literally priceless.

Way I see it, all depends on one factor: if the Ju 88 is modelled as a bomber or as a munition after you release it. If a few stray shots of MG to the warhead make it explode in flight after release, it’ll be DoA. If it tanks shots with the bomber DM though… Kawabunga it is
