History:
The Sea Breaker started development by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems in late 2010s as a successor of the Gabriel and Spike missile families. The sea missile version was officially presented on 30 June 2021, and its intended to be launched from sea and land platforms.

The Ice Breaker its the air launched version of the Sea Breaker, it was officially presented at the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2022. Just as the Sea Breaker, the missile its intended to strike ground and naval targets thanks to its IIR/GPS seeker/guidance and man-in-the-loop feature.

During Aero India 2025, Bharat Dynamics Limited and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems signed a memorandum of understanding, meaning that the Indian Armed Forces will be the first customer of the Sea/Ice Breaker.
During Azerbaijan’s Victory Day parade in Baku on 8 November 2025, it was showed the Sea Breaker missile mounted at the back of a truck.

The missile its meant to be compatible to every aircraft that can carry SPICE 1000 bombs. So for example, if an F-16D can carry four SPICE 1000 bombs, then it could also carry four Ice Breaker missiles. But only the F-15D Baz was seen actually carrying it in a photo taken in August 2026, with the serial number “714”.
