Does Talisman bypass +2 rank research penalty?

So I’ve been using Rank 6 Harrier with talisman to grind the UK air tree for a while now. I used it to grind Rank 8 Gripen too and it took me around 7 hours with talisman & premium to get 400k RP (About 1.1k RP per minute) with the +2 rank penalty.
I’ve avoided playing Rank 7 UK air because i struggle really hard with them. And looking around forums & subs, it seems im not the only one. I do attempt to play them once in a while, but hell i just can’t.
The matches i do manage to perform just average with Hawk 200, I get about the same RP for T8 if i just played with my talisman T6 harrier.

My question is if the 100% extra RP from talisman is actually enough to bypass the penalty from researching 2 ranks above a specific vic.

Since Tornado F3 is coming to UK Rank 7 i’ve been wondering if i should buy a talisman on it after the patch, to grind T8 & T9 if such thing is possible, or just stick with harrier, grind the UK hornet instead (Rank 8), play it without talisman & grind 8 + 9 without penalty.

I could grind EF AESA before the patch but honestly from what i’ve seen on yt, i doubt im gonna enjoy grinding the other vics with it.

No, you still have the research penalty. Just think of it as a permanent rp booster to your vehicle, instead of turning it into a premium.

Researching +2 ranks reduces your income to 40%. Talisman doubles it.

So your Harrier is about 80% effective compared to researching with a +1 rank difference.

The imbalance is increased further by the rank VII vehicle usually having a better research reward % value.
