Does anyone else's WEP just start randomly blinking from throttling down to throttling up?

I know this is a weird topic and bug report, but for some time now when I WEP on ARB, my 110% Throttle will randomly blink to 109% then back to 110% in milliseconds, so far I tested this on custom battles and testflight and this problem only exists in ARB for some reason. I tried messing with the throttle multiplier and even throttling slowly using the scroll wheel and it still persists.

It is also not a visual bug because testing using localhost and WTRTI show that my engine power was also dropping then stabilizing fast. Has anyone encountered this before? It’s bugging me out because it only happens to ARB.

I havn’t had it happen when I flew my Spitfire Mk II last night.

What aircraft are you flying, and are you playing with analogue throttle or digital? Analogue being sth like a slider or a literal throttle. Digital is 2 buttons you press.

Pretty much any plane that can WEP, like the P38’s, P47’s, Ki’s, 109’s, etc.

Digital, so shift and ctrl.

How do you select 110% normally? / What setting do you use for the throttle?

Do you have a “sliding” throttle or do you go WEP on/of (max-zero with no in-between)?

Do you have modifiers to your throttle axis? (nonlinearity, relative control, relative step, multiplier, correction, etc)?

Hold throttle for WEP?

Never mind, I see the answer… Hmm…

Sliding throttle. The settings for it is default and the only values I changed was the multiplier (which was lightly increased to 1.1)

Nope.

Ive never had any issues

but these are my settings from throttle with M&K so are there any differences with yours?

Spoiler

Besides the keybinds to increase and decrease it and some sensitivity changes, nope.

Not at all sure if this is how this works but this is my first guess:

It might be that you’re landing on a in-between number and the engine does a rounding.
If you’re applying 1.1% throttle for each step then you’re going to end up on 109.9 (instead of 110 exactly) after 9 steps. If there are other factors at play as well then it might be that it sometimes lands on 109.5 and starts to not know if it’s supposed to show 109 or 110.

Just a guess though.

Edit:
Would be really interesting to know if this is true and if actually effects the engines output in any way.

Hmm…

Well… im out of ideas :D

We’ll see if Necro has anymore.

To me it sounds like you aren’t increasing your throttle to 110% and instead like 109+, but I cant see or think of anyway that would be possible with M&K…

The fact it only happens in actual matches makes me wonder if its a connection related issue

Okay thanks for atleast helping me both of you, I’ll just fly a random plane and see if the issue still persists, I set the multiplier back to 1. I’ll be back if it’s still there.

Only thing there is that I also use 1.1x and never had this problem.

as in theory, you would land on 109.9 and then the next press would increase it to 110.

I wonder if that last step does that though, it would make sense if it did, but i wouldn’t be surprised if it went “nope, can’t add that number as it would go above permitted value” instead.

Got into a match now, and nope. It’s still fidgeting/stuttering between 110% and 109%. I don’t know if anyone has this issue too. Thanks for the assistance atleast!

You can bug report it here (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about): (Gaijin.net // Issues)

A guide on how to report bugs can be found here: ([Navigation] Technical Knowledge Base | War Thunder Wiki)

Do you have any other control input devices plugged in?

(Xbox controller, HOTAS, etc?)

Also, what is this setting set to?

Yes, I get this very often, but just with the recent major and ongoing issues.

Don’t think it changes anything (as it is quite quick), but it is an annoying distraction

(Edit: I’m on PC, mouse and keyboard, use “don’t hold for WEP”. Haven’t changed any settings around this for ages)

Just a regular old mouse and keyboard

The scroll wheel is set to my throttle too, but its set on low sensitivity for fine adjustments.

Currently it’s set to Throttle axis sits on 20% Multiplier. I tested it prior and even when I removed its set from axis it still stutters.

Using a scroll wheel tester I found on the web, It doesn’t show any faulty signs whatsoever so that’s out the window.

Oh thanks heaven, I thought I was the only one who had this.

Doneso!

Hmm… well, there goes my last idea
