Do you think the Super Hornet needs AIM-174B?

tell me in what universe would a iranian hodgpodge of late 70s tech be in any way shape or form similar to a modified SM-6 for a2a use. missiles arent just sticks which go fast and explode.

it absolutely is, it has NONE of its signature weapons, where are the jsows? were are the harpoons and slams? were are the harms and aargms? and i could go on there is a ton of us a2g weapons that exist

Instead of asking for fix of aim120c5 or c7 people out here are asking for 300km missiles and trying to justify it and the bad part it’s giving that add f22 vibes but neither less this is absurd request

In an implementation in War Thunder? The only similarities (or close enough) would be kinematics. I already said the other differences.

Those take time to make, model (both visually and in code). Besides, if it was planned to, it would’ve at least been in the place that shall not be mentioned and ready to go. Lastly, it’s not the end of the world if it doesn’t have it now, it can always be added later

Also, try and put all your replies into one.

Literally every other person is asking that about the C-5. Why make the 9000th topic about it specifically when others have already done so?

Also, not a request; a general query to see where everyone’s at given we are basically in 4.5 gen territory and all the impossible to (reasonably) balance shenanigans that brings.

Honestly my inner american man wants it honestly will be quite funny but tell me one thing how is the acceleration and top speed of it is ? The missile

Max speed is known to be at least Mach 3.5, acceleration especially fired from a Super Hornet is unknown as no test data or footage exists of that specifically so no way to really tell so basically implementing it into war thunder would have to be a lot of guessing (with a mix of basic understanding of physics). But, since it’s capable of up to 250 km from a sea level launch it tells me the air-launched range should in theory be around 250-270 km at most, maybe up to 300 km if you’re truly high and fast (M1.5+ @ 11,000 m, but in a super hornet? Mach 1.1-1.2 in a regular ARB match is more likely).

At bare min 200 km is for use thing 😂 any guess on how huge the war head is ?

It uses the same warhead as the RIM-174, so ~64 kg (I hate weight conversions) warhead. Gonna tickle even if you multipath, basically

Because those fixes won’t fix the US tree. Fixing the AIM-120C would buff every other tree that uses it too.

I just got lost in the part where fixing a missile the US and other nations employ wouldn’t fix the US tree or even be detrimental to the US.

If anything, it would give them all new operational ceilings against other missile series.

key part.
but currently, all toptier US planes are in fact quite inferior to other AMRAAM-based planes. so issue still will be here, but with less opponents(if less…)

btw you don’t need a “I just want to see the results” vote because you can just view them by default anyways

Hell nah unless counterparts like the PL-21 and R-37M come along with
And then of course there’s the issue that most nations don’t have equivalent extremely-long-range missiles

PL-17

Aim174 doesnt need to come for a while yet. just add aim120d, aim120c8,pl15, and r77m as a stepping stone to the larger missiles and meteor.

Sure that one too

yeah. they could maybe add AIM-174 with the MiG-31+R-37. whats most important right now is AMRAAM fixes

That would be one hell of a patch man. Still they’d have to add meteor too to make it somewhat fair.

idk, R-37 and AIM-174 are a different class of missile on worse platforms
