Maybe they have finally learned their lesson. Maybe they are giving the F-35 some time to shine instead of jumping the gun to the F-22 and only adding the F-35 when it’s already borderline DOA.
Who knows. It’s a good lesson to learn, but this is still Gaijin.

“We’re happy to see the attention the game is getting and the enthusiasm for modern aviation, and today we want to talk a bit more about our plans regarding 4++ and 5th generation aircraft specifically.
The game already has the first iconic examples of 4+ and 4++ generation aircraft, but we plan to add a few more of these aircraft to different research trees before moving on to 5th generation aircraft. At the moment for example, not all nations have top fighters with the most modern electronically scanned array radars, and we would like to close this gap first. There are also several modern air warfare technologies that can enrich gameplay that have not yet been implemented in War Thunder.
This process will take several major updates, and the first 5th generation aircraft will not appear in the game before the second half of next year. We hope this news will not upset fans of these aircraft too much, especially as there are a lot of interesting aircraft ahead.”
What Oxy said regarding the F-22 specifically (he was not speaking about 5th gens in general, but specifically the F-22) does not contradict the above statement.

Other nations has jets that can do df like gripen or ef2k
But us doesnt have normal df (f18 and f16 are mid) or missiles to help with that

Hello @Smin1080p_WT are you saying that the user above is correct that we can expect Gaijin to add 5th gens this year?
Because saying that we should not expect 5th gen before the second half of this year is vastly different than saying 5th gen will appear in the second half.
It means the same, no? “Don’t expect it early 2026” is the gist of it.
Obviously it’s not coming in the Summer update, so probably December. There’s still a whole lot of aircraft and in-game mechanics that could/should be added like remaining nations’ 4++ gen aircraft, ARMs, ECM, etc., before stealth fighters can come.
Im saying it’s correct that there was indeed an official developer comment on the subject. Not confirming anything else.

For me, no problem if gajin delay F-15EX Eagle II until Q2 2027 or 2028
But waiting F-15E with AN/APG-82(V)1 AESA radar to rank IX in the Q2 or Q3 major update this year
