Do we have chance to see AIM9X and IRIS-T that on the aircrafts?

In next major update, we have seen AIM9X and IRIS-T used on SAMs in advance which are carried on aircrafts as F15E F16C EF2000. However, in dev Sever, they are not avaliable on jets. So do we have chance to see AIM9X and IRIS-T that on the aircrafts in this update?

Probably not and its better that way
Until we get ecm its better to stick to 4th gen missiles

No.

sad

Ecm maybe far to us, due to the programing skills of gaijins’.

Ecm is needed badly, even without 5th gen IR missiles. Kinda surprised there isn’t a active post for ecm systems

ECM will have no effect on newer IR missiles.

And in general, all it will serve is as a beacon for missiles to Home-On-Jam for.

Not this update, probably not any time soon either

HOJ are pretty useless against maneouvring targets

Not to my understanding, unless you have a source which suggests otherwise

Not all ecm works like that
Also some aircratf like the rafale has something that reduce its ir signature
Stuff like that can be very usefull and ez to implement

maybe ah1z, but no other aircraft

and they shouldnt add them for jets any time soon

That’s unlikely to do much against thermal imaging seeker AAM’s.

The PDF talks about how different jamming algorithms can effect proportional navigation, which is used by Home on Jam to home into the target using the coordinates by the seeker. This is used because home on jam cant find distance to the target, only altitude and azimuth.

Sawtooth and time variation angular errors seems to cause the missile to miss with a decent distance from the target.

All these graphs are in a 2D world, not 3D. The target is meant to be non maneouvring too, hence if it maneouvres, its gonna cause even bigger misses. Hom on jame is practically usefull only against awacs or stationary ground jammers.

Only DIRCM to my knowledge can work against IIR. lower IR signature can only reduce the range of detection.

Afaik, detection range for IIR is dependent much less on temperature, and more on seeker FOV

it still depends on infrared signatures tho, if the target is pretty far off, it cant pick up the IR signature reliably, but in usual scenarios, like less than 5 km which we see in war thunder, it doesnt matter, and with LOAL capabilities on these missiles, more detection range isnt needed anyways.

IIR only has to pick up the contrast against background noise, even a reduced IR signature will still stand out against the background.

Up to a point, the limitation becomes more the size of the image in the seeker

So one is going to be mostly using flares or DIRCM against these missiles
