They annihilate most light vehicles. And don’t try to play starstreak with your 230 ping. 70- 90 max.
Ah. Thank you. Regardless, I like pain 🤣. I wish we could turn off the extra spawns
The Hittles are Tungsten, just fairly hollow.
Partial cutaway

The boost stage can overpressure a surprising amount, but it’s unreliable. Additionally the Hittles can pen 50mm post separation, the game just doesn’t tell you.
In general they really need to add the LMM with its proxy fuze, HEAT-MP warhead though so the AT ability might bump the BR up. Could add the Opel Fruits Starburst missile, even if that’s not a service missile for the stormer
50mm
It is in fact, not

I stand corrected
They’ve been bugged ever since they nerfed them from useable, consoles have aim assist so it helps them but on PC it’s rubbish. It used to work fine it should be reverted to it’s very first iteration.
I always thought it never ever worked well. I remember in the old forum there was one of the longest threads ever running about the Starstreaks…
This! is why they go straight through targets like there’s nothing there and fail to detonate, they used to work when they were first released.
Literally anything more than 50 ping and they’re basically unusable from my experience
That is not just only…
no proxy. they need to directly hit.
dont worry they are reworked on DEV. the spread of the darts is a little too wide at the moment but its a world better
I live in New Zealand mate, its pretty good :)
So that probably contributes to why I see it go “through” small drones and stuff
Oh okay, that might be good for NZ standards but for most others it is far from okay.
I’m playing on EU from EU and 50-60 ping is the norm and there Starstreaks actually work.
… or “around” small drones and stuff. IIRC, the hittiles fly in a swarm of about 1.5m diameter.
In general I find those three individually guided projectiles a highly peculiar idea from Shorts/Thales for a SAM. Not sure if such strange configurations are a British thing (…looking pointedly at Fireflash)… ;-)
I was using Rapier in my example
Probably not (Looks at the Spaniel, literally a surface launched guided RP-3 for anti air use?)
The question was “how do we make a MANPAD that can counter fast jets and helicopter pop up attacks?” Their answer was make the projectile as fast as possible, thus requiring a smaller warhead mass than desired for a decent proxy fuse, their answer was to forgo the frag sleeve and just have three submunitions for the same weight as as warhead in the missile Starstreak was replacing (Javelin/Starburst).
BAE’s competitor for the contract was a little more insane, basically anti-air LOSAT missiles
Correct me if I’m wrong but arent the LOSATs effectively just a rocket powered pipe that you throw at an enemy tank?
YUP
Didn’t get selected, but was offered to the Brazilians where it lost out to Igla (Probably on cost basis)
Could it also be the fact that just slamming a metal pipe into things seems like a rather primitive way of dealing with it as opposed to cool explodey pipes?
