That’s more of a fault with Gaijins own map design (which is only made worse with larger maps), rather than larger maps being inherently bad.
CAS is considerably harder to do in urban settings rather than rural ones due to tanks having much more cover in cities.
As ION said, its not the size that has such an impact, but rather that the CQB maps tend to have more cover.
Though inversely, it could be considered that CAS is more effective on CQB maps because enemies tend to be closer together, between the large bombs or targeting multiple enemies with AGMs. Or just carpet bombing the map, generally results in more kills. Also the cover can work in the favour of CAS as well, and limit the sight lines of SPAA.
TLDR. I wouidnt bring CAS into the debate of small vs large maps and focus purely on tank vs tank engagements,
not to mention small cluster F map they can spawn CAS faster
just some fast light tank with scout ability and BAM!! full CAS within two minute.
lol no is opposite especially high tier CAS when you know how to look and since the enemy tend to cluster all together send some AGM and score multi kill is not hard really

Where is the “for fun” in having big map with 90% of the map No man Land. Why making a map following the 3 corridor like we have hull down tank sniping weakspot like our tank , our vehicle have HP ? On small maps with low-trained crew you can see who is shooting at you and from what direction.
Small maps are much better for lower BR, up to like 8.0 i’d say. Beyond that, close range mas are awful
I think the problem at the moment is the reward system, a lot of players dislike large maps because you see no enemys and then you will also get no RP and SL. So 30min of battles on small maps gets you more RP and SL then 30min of battle on large maps

But you didn’t, you just take something gaijin said, which the fact that they only allowed 1 map ban should tell you something about their map design. They are popular doesn’t mean they are good, it is because beside them the other are peak garbo or just outright unfun to play
I’d like to say I enjoy maps of all sizes, but I also can’t get around the fact my two most played vehicles are the Object279 and Falcon. So in the end, I must admit I am most certainly a small-map fan above all.

This map is far too big for even 6.7 .I like big open maps but if we are having a map this big then we need bigger teams.
Half the team left after a while of not even seeing an enemy and I spent 20 minutes looking for somebody to kill on my side of the map.I killed the only person I saw all game in an unmodded US tank at 6.7 doing 8 mph top speed.Not much fun.
