DM63 performance - XM800T vs Luchs, Wiesel & Marder

So this is more of a subjective perspective and a genuine question.

The DM63 on the XM800T shreds pretty much everything and performs as I would expect from a fast firing, armour piercing 20mm round. That’s why it is going up in BR to 8.3, because the XM800T creates havoc wherever it goes and if it would shoot blanks, then you wouldn’t have all the complaints about it ruining games :)

The DM63 on the German Light Vehicles however, feels very different. It’s good enough to break barrels and tracks, but a relatively far cry from what the XM800T does.
Again, this is a subjective perspective, but my German Light Vehicles with the DM63 do not even come close to the punch the XM800T delivers.

Now, I know that the XM800T uses a variation of the HS820 gun and the Germans use the Rheinmetall Mk20 Rh-202, but the ammo is identical and so is the muzzle velocity, so theoretically it should perform identical.

So, why does the DM63 on the German vehicles either feel or actually perform, so different?

The XM800T works because it’s super mobile. It’s much faster than a Marder and the Luchs has incredible gimped mobility and is also the size of a bus.

The XM800T is always in the position to ambush vehicles and disable them while the German vehicles are rarely in the same position.

The Wiesel only has a limited arc of fire, so it can’t do drive bys like the XM800T.

If you can sneak up on someone and shoot them from 50-100m you can easily shred their barrels but when you try to do the same from 300m, you’re not going to be very successful.

Also the XM800T has a full APDS belt and nearly double the fire rate

Firerate will soon change since a bug report was accepted Community Bug Reporting System
all Rh202 users will receive a buff

Weren’t they originally 1000 rpm and where reduced to the current 800 rpm.

To my surprise no body mentioned Type87(P), which is the closest to XM800T but still at 7.7

if you think accepted means it will be fixed soon you are completly wrong xD
Those reports often stay open for years before getting touched

You mean getting acknowledged that there is storage taken up?

It’s larger, acceleration is terrible (just like most wheeled vehicles) which despite the size has decent survivability. But I must say you’re right. I mostly use the Type 87 RCV (P) to make fun of others, it’s particularly quieter compared to the XM-800T but harder to ambush.

I’m used to gaijin being sluggish with reports, but sometimes they fix them in less than 3 months, so I hope this will take them 6 months max

Gaijin almost certainly added it with DM63 to hard counter the Fox as British mains took full advantage of the abysmal 6.7 german teams to get a 70+% winrate with the thing. Gaijin absolutely wanted to smite the fox for how good it did

the XM800T shouldnt get DM63 as the vehicle was NEVER tested with it even tho the ammunition is technically compatible gaijins official stance for why they gave it a inaccurate shell is “bAlAnCiNg ReAsOnS” meanwhile the russian ZSU 57-2 stays a menace at 7.0 while the Chinese one is at 8.0 as it has HE-VT, the HVAP would have been more than adequate for such a vehicle at 8.0 even if they had given it its LRF seeing as its meant to rush light vehicles and not molest heavies like it does at the moment, shell shatter sucks but it is not as severe of an issue with such a monumental ROF

it doesn’t. just like how the RARDEN is mis AF on the warrior and scimitar but good on Fox its the platform its on which makes all the difference. you’re as fast as the fox on all terrain and better than it in urban settings and have very good gun laying (like the fox did before a bogus bug report made the thing barely 7.7 worthy).

you’re also tiny so a hard to hit target, only wiesels and L3 carro veloce are smaller. small target at 50mph if you get shot it was a fluke or a cracked player

Tons of Bugs i have been following have been there for more than a year. Gaijin only fixes bugs “quickly” when they are severe or they change the vehicle performance in a way that they see as “needed”, if a vehicle or a weapon is performing well in their view and a bug report shows up they will pass it as a suggestion and shelve it indefinitely or for a very long time

the immense speed of the xm800 means the rounds are faster and pen more /s
