Why are battles still assigned only by BR? Why should I play against a level 100 guy who’s been playing longer than I’ve been alive? The developers justify it by saying it will take longer to find a match, but you know, I’d rather wait longer than be humiliated by game nerds.

Being level 100 doesn’t mean that you’re good at the game. You’ll see bad people at level 100 and you’ll see good people at level 100. Battles are assigned only by battle rating because that method is used to balance vehicles based on statistics, capabilities and how players perform in that vehicle; including good level 100 players and bad level 100 players.

level based matchmaking won’t fix anything while low levels can still buy the brand new shiny premium 5 mins after installing

Yea, stop wasting your time checking the level of who got you. It’s only going to make you bitter and upset, which will lead to you making rash decisions, or having outbursts about why the issue exists.
There is a software, (can’t remember off the top of my head) that can take live stats from people in matches and show you the chances of winning. But I don’t think it worth it in a game like war thunder. Just do the best you can and if you feel you did good that’s all the matters.
