In a small section of the upper frontal plate
Nice.
let me take a look XD
Obsession, bro is just … ignore him.
Can I just say I love the dedication you put in to the inaccuracy’s of the Chinese vehicles within the game, you single handedly have probably done more for Chinese top tier ground than anyone else in the community combined. Keep up the good work man.
But bro, in the official server this plate is gone
when will we see these issues corrected? especially the hull armor. It only occupies 2/1 of the height of the vehicle body. In reality, it has 2/3.
even if the RHA value remains constant, the vulnerable area will still move downwards
Gaijin is not only making 99A worse now, but they are also continuing to ignore issues with VT4.
Why does VT4 continue to move up the ranks? This is an all-round poor tank, maneuverability, protection and firepower without an excellent one. Gaijin, you need to face up to what you’re doing!
Gaijin and some people: I think the armor of VT4 and 99A is very good.
and the upper armor of VT4 hull still cannot ricochet until now. (<82°)
Would LOVE to know why the VT-4 UFP is a weakspot when the Abrams isn’t IRL the DM-53 can punch thru the Abrams thin UFP, the VT-4 having ERA on top of the armor makes it IRL impossible. Yet here we are, Abrams ‘ricochets’ it off the UFP while the VT-4 dies from it despite same plate angle AND ERA…
is there a bug report? A recent update made thin plate(<=10mm rolled steel I think) unable to ricochet non autocannon APFSDS. but VT-4’s UPF is surely not a thin plate
VT-4 UFP is 45mm in game + FY-2 ERA on top, all sloped at 82 deg. Even modern APFSDS cannot penetrate, 45mm is very hard to penetrate at that angle and the ERA on top makes it no chance.
Contrary to popular belief, 20mm thick isn’t sufficient to protect against modern APFSDS, there are actually FEA simulations showing even successful penetration against an Abrams simulated UFP. Granted most of the mass had been eroded but it still penetrates, it does not ricochet.
It’s just the usual bias from the devs combined with poor quality control (nobody tested the ricochet code with ERA?? really??).
It’s because Gaijin modeled the driver’s port area as a separate RHA plate… Sabot ingame seems to only ricochet when it is one large plate. The APFSDS hits the first plate, and glitches into the second one, and since the starting area is completely flat (90 degrees) it will penetrate through there instead.
how about hit it on side, avoid the driver’s port
Now this just don’t make a lick o’ sense
The abrams UFP has the same issue btw. And the Leo 2s iirc.
Does the Abrams? I’ve ricochetted countless times recently off that damn plate (aimed slightly too low for the turret ring). Leo 2, I saw a bug report about it.
The area not in front of the driver’s port has much higher chance of ricochet from my testing. I find that the ERA also kind of messes up the sabot round and tends to make it forget that it is hitting the armor at an steep angle.
