the normal derby and the ER are identical in shape. its the same as the python 4 and 5… both missiles are identical in shape its just that the ER is upgraded from the normal derby, same as the python 5 is identical in shape its just that the 5 is upgraded from the 4.
you can even see in the 2nd to last image that the I-derby is on it’s side with the plug on the side.
the last image is shown as the missile being “upright” with the plug on the top.
That’s a regular derby on the F-16B 4X-ACE testbed that’s been photoshopped. A lot of images are mixed together and altered weirdly enough.
The I-Derby ER does have its rolling fins removed, or they have them further swept back then on previous variants. @Surbaissemaxxing (if he’s online, I think he may be busy lately) can enlighten us on it as he’s well versed in the I-Derby series.
I wont be able to make bug reports until 8th of September or so, as only then I can be on my PC again
But yes, the fins are removed (or use smaller ones). Rafael tends to use old photos by a huge amount. I-Derby ER also falls under that. The fins are either removed, or much, much smaller and swept
If you look on shown I-Derby ERs irl, this can be seen, albeit can look weird due to angles
And the ER having the same fins just doesnt make sense, considering that it would just give it more drag
Check out the launch video I sent above, the proportions of the fins look like a normal Derby I think, they don’t look any smaller, giving it more drag won’t be a problem at all because the Derby’s problem is the engine and removing it will probably reduce the maneuverability enough to make the full sphere capability not worth it
Short of it is it got from 0 to mach 1 in around 38 seconds and at 100m alt I got up to 1497kph or mach 1.22. Kept hearing the critical speed warning from the VWS but no on-screen warning
