Sooo how is the Abrams supposed to have a fighting chance in hull down scenarios against tanks that can easily overpressure us simply my our MGs on top of turret now? The 908 was the only way and it was already kind of weak for this duty. The HEAT rounds don’t work, the 830a1 didn’t work and the 829a2 is useless against fully hill down Russian tanks. Amazing guys thanks.

Overpressure is poorly modeled in War Thunder as the interior of models are missing multiple internal components, compartments, etc. HE fragmentation is also poorly modeled as each shrapnel piece will have the maximum armor penetration listed on the stat card while also inflicting overpressure damage (To my understanding at least). Full hull down Russian MBTs can be killed with M829A2, A1, and even the regular M829 projectile. Every tank cannon at top tier is pinpoint accurate, so it’s not hard to hit weakpoints even at range. I’d argue the Abrams is more annoying to shoot at 1km+ if its hull down. If you have to rely on overpressure to kill vehicles, then maybe it’s simply a lack of skill in the game.

Proximity rounds can not be used against hull down enemies anyways. Artillery rounds have far more filler and even they don’t scratch the tops of tanks. If you want to kill a hull down enemy use top attack munitions or flank, and quit crying.

I don’t “rely” on anything and was simply pointing out that scenario. And no…in a true hull down the rounds you mentioned will indeed not kill them the majority of the time but you may pull a couple off in 10 attempts. And your Abrams being annoying to shoot if its hull down is pretty laughable. I dont see any ridiculously tall and easy targets on top of any T series tanks and the few you do see one they STILL cant be lol OP like the Seps can.
How do you explain the Tow-2b nerfs then? Seems like Gaijin likes to pick and choose when to value realism over gameplay.
