Difference between A6M5 otsu and hei?

The A6M5 Otsu is 0.3 br above the A6M5 Hei even tho it has worse armament and has worse pilot protection (which is probably why the Hei has worse flight performance), but shouldn’t they then be at the same Br?

I must add that of course as is visible I haven’t flown them yet but it’s still intriguing

Gaijin literally decides BR without checking anything by a person. They simply see what players on average are doing in every vehicle and have a machine spit out a report that tells them what should move in which direction… there is no human here determining these BRs. It’s a math algorithm thats blind to all nuance.

The Hei is much heavier so despite better guns its a step lower. Still way too high.

One would think one having vastly superior firepower and the other having a mobility advantage that is about the same as the other having a firepower advantage… would put them at the same BR.

The issue with the Hei is that it loses so much climb rate that it can no longer really do Zero things. But both are like 4.7s at most.

people said that about the a6m6 too and I did just fine in it, japan is likely my next “spade everything” grind so I’ll have a concrete opinion on it soon enough anyway

A6M6 is horrid too, you really gotta find the average WT brainlets to do well in it.

In reality you are only speaking on a theoretical “what if” scenario if the WT community was good. They are not. The A6M6 is extremely easy to do well in, in reality.

really only difference is the hei has armor so it turns slower etc

Isn’t Hei one that has 3x 13.2mm MGs with 2x 20mm cannons?
While it loses out some performance it does get self sealing fuel tanks and armored windscreen
