This is purely my opinion, but I’ve noticed they aren’t killing tanks as effectively even with direct bomb hits (less than 10ft away). Just today, I dropped a bomb that hit an IS-4M’s barrel and detonated (he had his turret facing forwards), only to take out the barrel and tracks. Later I dropped 2 bombs right next to a Maus and only got a Hit, no tracks, barrel, or anything. I get the armor pen only says 97mm, but you’d think a bomb of that size exploding directly next to a tank would do more than that. It might just be bad luck but has anyone else experienced similar?
the IS4m and maus are infamously bomb proof so they are very poor examples for a complaint like this
That doesn’t mean something hasn’t changed. I used to be able to kill them without much trouble using the same bombs.
Well if the OP was expecting internal damage, then yeah, that would be a pretty poor example, yet there was no damage at all. Anything–even a L3 or a M22–can damage/take out the tracks or gun barrel of a Maus/IS-4M. You’d think 2x 1,000 bombs right next to a Maus to at least do something
The 2000lb bombs feel pretty nerfed, but the 1000lb ones feel fine.
It might just be an issue with volumetric but who knows.
Not about specific bombs, but all bombs are nerfed at some time (maybe a few months, maybe half a year) before with some overpressure change or un announced change.
And yes, bombs aren’t as powerful as before, requiring more precision.
I did this in my f84 too, one on bow, one on stern. Track and barrel only. Observed by my friend on the ground who called for the drop.
idk if it still happens but there used to be an issue with bombs landing ontop of tanks doing literally no damage
If some HE shell can overpressure a tank, then I’m pretty sure a bomb with 10x the explosive would do the same thing. Gaijin once again doing Gaijin things.
