Just a curious question but did the I-15 bis get nerfed? I swear it flies way more differently now. PV-1s seem to be even weaker now and the flight characteristics seem to be way worse.
They’re already basically the best reserve planes, a small nerf won’t hurt them that much.
And maybe the real issue is that you’re playing reserve enough for you to notice every small change in a plane.

It’s still quite good but I’m just wondering. Reason why I noticed is because I’ve just started to grind China and a while back I was grinding USSR. Unless the Russian one and the Chinese one are different and it’s just Russian bias lol
Oh shoot nvm, I was comparing the standard Russian I-15s to the Chinese I-15 bis but still, it feels significantly worse

IRL the I-15Bis was generally considered a downgrade from the original I-15, since it was significantly heavier and it’s wing design generated less lift. A combination of political meddling and the fact that factory lines for the original I-15 had been disbanded meant that it was the only viable option when biplane procurement was reinstated after initial expirience in the Spanish Civil War.

Il did feel like that. It stalls easily and at low speeds, turns like a brick while shedding a lot of energy. Basically, if you’re in a dogfight at low altitudes and there are more than 1 enemy you might as well be dead while the I-15 standard versions can handle that situation with no issues XD
Yeah, the engine is very bad and paired with the guns is absolutely crap. PV-1s do basically no damage while jams easily. It’s much more fun to play the I-153 M-62 from my experience after I unlocked it lol.
