i just unlocked my brimstone missile for tornado GR4 and maybe grind some couple of meme missile out of it and i learned that people used to radar slave the LITENING III TGP to ground target via TWS GMTI but in Typhoon and other Litening III equiped jet, not tornado GR4, did i miss something? does the tornado GR4 doesnt have that radar laser slaving capability?
The Tornado GR4 doesnt have GMTI.
It has a radar mode for targeting ships and that is it (note, that in Nuclear Escalation, the naval search radar also detects buildings for some reason).
Does also get an Air-to-Air ACM mode, but that is even less relevant to this
Whether a Tpod can slave to a radar is based upon the aircraft in question, not the Tpod.
Litening III still slaves to the radar on either Typhoon, but not the GR4, which is a little bit of a shame because you could then use PGMs as a Psuedo Anit-Ship missile, but no sources have yet been found to show that that kind of slaving is possible.
The Tornado IDS (all of them, including the GR4) should have a Ground mapping radar mode. which would then allow it to create a target point and thus slave the tpod to that target point, but that type of radar mode hasnt been modeled yet. It would be most effective for targeting buildings in NE though and less so tanks.
It should also have GMTI, but with quite a limited range, about 8km iirc.
Ultimately what is needed for Brimstones is their FnF modes and not being limited to the SAL mode that requires the use of the Tpod
