Description: The Dewoitine D520 was a french fighter made in the second world war. However today we are here to talk about the aircraft during the service in the Regia Aeronautica, the Italian Royal air force. The first 3 units were delivered to the 2th Stormo at Tourin. The pilots when they received it appreciated the 20 mm Hispano-suyza cannon and at least for the 1941, the flight characteristics. More units were captured during the invasion of the south of France, and they were always transferred to the 2th Stormo with a total of 10 aircraft .Before the armistice, the Italian air force borrowed with the Luftwaffe a total of 39 Lioré-et-Olivier Le.0.451 for 30 D520. The new aircraft were given to various squadron (from the 161th to the 164th) as interceptor against the allied bombers. After the armistice, 47 of them were still operational, and the units dislocated in the north of Italy were used by the Regia Aeronautica as trainers for new pilots.
Why it should be in the game: I believe that this aircraft that was used in goods number by the Italian air force can have a place as a pemiun or as a event
