[Development] ZSU-23-4M2: Afghan Escort Vehicle

My claim still stands since hummv with amraams are not stand alone units and need external radars and seekers
USA currently has nothing on par with pantsir .
the only other tech tree that can have something that can be considered on par with or better than pantsir , is the Chinese tt and possibly Britain with alvis, land ceptor ( camm-er) platform

Italy and US right now: ☠️

AMRAAMs can be fired in mad-dog mode without separate radar.

If the leaks are to be believed, then Germany, Italy, and USSR will receive 9K33 OSA.

That would be cool, but again this leaves out a number of nations.

Good luck aiming that thing , the “turret” has limited traverse and no elevation ,depression
With the current spaa mechanics i don’t think there is room for implementing bulkier and modular systems , i do agree that modular systems should be in game connected with some kind of radar provided to each team but it will become a prime bomb target

I mean you don’t aim at all. I’m pretty sure mad-dog AMRAAMs don’t have IFF (or at least I’ve not heard of it).

Italy and the GDR tree are likely to get it, but USSR? I’m not sure, they don’t seem to need it, it might be a good replacement for the TOR that USSR didn’t get though. OSA should have similar performance to the TOR but with fixed elevation and only 6 missiles.

Remind me, what devblog are we on again? 🤔

Yeah…

Quite interesting, but tbh germany and America and Britain could use some multi gunned high RoF spans too between 8.0/8.3 to 9.3 and below 7.7 as well, planes are way too easy to play at these at 8.0, and they should be punished >:3

Jokes aside, what kinda BR will this sit at? Can’t be above the ZSU-37-2 cuz that thing has a radar already, maybe below? Things with radar tend to be at 8.0 and abov after all or 8.3 like the Gepard, would be nice to have a competent spaa at 7.3 or 7.0 filling out the zsu-57-2’s role as that’s not that great for spaa, or below that (tho unlikely)

If it sits at 7.0, it can’t really kill things there anyways, like at higher BRs unless you’re fighting an IFV and get lucky, pretty balanced already, but it’s really slow as well sp it can’t really do escort stuff let alone the fact that 50 cals can detonate your ammo

It’s got a waxy coating lol

AHEAD for Gepard when :(

Yep, exactly. They dont even need to add new vehicles to fix some nations issues

Is it planned to give export Shilka (Hungarian and Israeli) a proper model now with same frontal bulges?

You do know that missiles are pretty bad now right, you’ll prob spend half your ammo just shooting some A-10 who’s trying to stratoclimb into your team’s spawn

Long awaited increased spaa rewards, improved radar tracking, anything more like encouraging people to play spaas too, spaas are probably treated the worst besides French atgm tds, I mean at least they aren’t meant to fight planes (but still have 20mm cannons lol)

Nah, the devs only make changes to vehicle specs based on what their “informants” tell them, that’s a whole other thing on its own, so they won’t even listen to classified or declassified documents until their informants catch up with it, which is extremely frustrating

And I mean it matters less when the devs can just decide “nah, well just add this or remove this and add this thing the community really needs like 4 years later and give an excuse”

If you want to make this argument for asymmetric balancing than NATO nations get increased access to CAS aircraft. The doctrine that created more SHORAD is because of the threat they faced. You want to throw “historical” accuracy into the argument the US air tree would be drastically more dominate. F-4Cs wouldn’t need to fight Mig-21SMTs or Mig-21MFs, they’d be fighting Mig-21F-13s. Me 163s against B-17s, etc. NATO countries developed a lot of prototypes and concepts that can be used to “balance” the game.

This vehicle is a classic Smekalka approach both game wise and historically. Its an easy copy paste tank with the biggest change being the removal of radar. The T1E1 is just a slightly changed T1 and M6. Summer update most of the new items will be slightly modified existing units.

Doesnt even need to be that complicated. If there is genuinely the issue that NATO/western nations dont have as many options for SPAA because they relied more heavily on air superiority (which I think is a total fallacy, there is loads of options available). Then make our CAP cheaper to spawn in than soviet/eastern nations that have plenty of SPAA options. Id have no issues with spawning a fighter instead of an SPAA 99% of the time except for the fact it costs so much more.

Will probably be 11.3, so the premium noobs can have an AA too, that or it will be 11.0 because the only other hole at top tier.
