Is it planned to give export Shilka (Hungarian and Israeli) a proper model now with same frontal bulges?
You do know that missiles are pretty bad now right, you’ll prob spend half your ammo just shooting some A-10 who’s trying to stratoclimb into your team’s spawn
Long awaited increased spaa rewards, improved radar tracking, anything more like encouraging people to play spaas too, spaas are probably treated the worst besides French atgm tds, I mean at least they aren’t meant to fight planes (but still have 20mm cannons lol)
Nah, the devs only make changes to vehicle specs based on what their “informants” tell them, that’s a whole other thing on its own, so they won’t even listen to classified or declassified documents until their informants catch up with it, which is extremely frustrating
And I mean it matters less when the devs can just decide “nah, well just add this or remove this and add this thing the community really needs like 4 years later and give an excuse”
If you want to make this argument for asymmetric balancing than NATO nations get increased access to CAS aircraft. The doctrine that created more SHORAD is because of the threat they faced. You want to throw “historical” accuracy into the argument the US air tree would be drastically more dominate. F-4Cs wouldn’t need to fight Mig-21SMTs or Mig-21MFs, they’d be fighting Mig-21F-13s. Me 163s against B-17s, etc. NATO countries developed a lot of prototypes and concepts that can be used to “balance” the game.
This vehicle is a classic Smekalka approach both game wise and historically. Its an easy copy paste tank with the biggest change being the removal of radar. The T1E1 is just a slightly changed T1 and M6. Summer update most of the new items will be slightly modified existing units.
Doesnt even need to be that complicated. If there is genuinely the issue that NATO/western nations dont have as many options for SPAA because they relied more heavily on air superiority (which I think is a total fallacy, there is loads of options available). Then make our CAP cheaper to spawn in than soviet/eastern nations that have plenty of SPAA options. Id have no issues with spawning a fighter instead of an SPAA 99% of the time except for the fact it costs so much more.
Will probably be 11.3, so the premium noobs can have an AA too, that or it will be 11.0 because the only other hole at top tier.
Pretty sweet and historical modification of the vehicle. Designed during the Soviet-Afghan War and can be paired with our other modification that came out during that time, the BMP-2D. Exciting 🤙
Probably BR 7.3 to fill the gap between the ZSU-57-2 and the ZSU-37-2. Good filler spot but I think there’s more pressing things that could have been focused on nevertheless I will definitely use it.
They don’t even like to balance similar aircraft. Because the A-10 can bring a little more AGMs vs the SU-25 its 10.7 vs 10.3.
How long did it take for the Strella to get moved up? Feel like the US ground tech tree is purposely weak because they’ll never get top tier US balanced.
cool, another zsu
I think it would be more attractive to add such a wheeled tank as the BTR70 series, BTR80 series, BTR90 series, or 2S14
Wow what a great addition. russia desperately needed another SPAA unlike the US which has a gigantic gap in the SPAA lineup between 4 and 7.7…
And yet, they still haven’t added the simple copy-paste that would be USS Salem as TT in the US Bluewater tree lmao
Should be foldered with the ZSU-37-2.
Oh those poor, poor russian mains with their 19 SPAAs. I’m sooo glad that their miniscule BR gaps are being taken care of
It takes more effort to add a whole new vehicle compared to just removing the radar and doubling the ammo on an existing vehicle. I’ll even bet you that it will be bugged and might retain features of the radar shilka due to c&p
Italy? Italy’s only gap is top end [which is a gap in all 10 tech trees], which does need a SAM.
USA’s primary gap is 5.7, which would also fill its 6.7 gap since CAS doesn’t really change from 5.7 - 7.0.
So yeah, besides Britain 7.7 and USA 5.7… the only real gaps are top end for all 10 tech trees @capnlunch
People complaining about SPAA regardless of its tech tree… THAT is tone deaf, CAS is OP at top BR.
Now there’s some spicy willful ignorance. Did you by chance forget or miss the very obvious empty space between the M42 and M163? You know the tiny little detail that there is no rank IV SPAA at all? The M42 regardless of your expertise with it still won’t have the same RP and SL multipliers as a potential rank IV SPAA (rewards for shooting down planes are crap already) and the M163 flat out sucks. And yes I don’t play Britain, France and Japan ground so I don’t comment on the SPAA gaps there. I play USA more often and so I do comment on it. I’m not going to waste my time obsessing over every single nation’s tech tree gaps
@capnlunch As I said, that space is easily filled with a 5.7 SPAA, which would also fill the SPAA role for the 6.7 lineup.
Which I posted here:
Your post was answered before you typed it.
You can claim M163, ZSU-23-4M2, etc suck all you want. The facts remain that they’re still good SPAA for 7.7.
Japan doesn’t have a 7.7 lineup to utilize a SPAA there to begin with, and it barely has a 7.3 lineup of which only ZSU-57-2 would fill and that’s not Japanese so it wouldn’t be added.
Which the US doesn’t have and gaijin won’t add. My point here is that the russian SPAA line is getting way too much attention compared to the US and the resources they put into this new ZSU-23 could’ve been used to fill in the BR gaps for the US instead
