Itd be nticeably less mobile, 300hp is alot. The khalid is stupid fast, and the gun elevation is not geriatric

Not marginally, Not sure on the exact weight, but assuming it weights the same as the Mk.5, which is unlikely you’d be sat at 16 or so hp/t

It’s nicely mobile for the BR but it ain’t super fast.

I mean the Chieftain MK900 had it upgraded as well no? as part of the damn program xD it should be the same as the mk10 and Shir 1 aka Khalid and be about 20 to 21 seconds. If it’s the standard 5 then it’s not right.

It’ll likely be aroudn the MK10s weight range as far as I can tell. Should be about 56 tones.
So it again won’t be massively slower it’ll still be nearly 17 HP/T

It is a worse Khalid.

It’s much slower with worse gun handling.

The only benefit it has is having slightly better protection.

If it is not 9.0 in its current state as it is advertised in the devblog, that would be ridiculous

ROF marketed this tank with Chobham armor, however in reality the two built prototypes never had this fitted. Instead of the rounder turret typical of Chieftain tanks, the turret and front hull are covered in metal-cladding which gives off a sharp look to simulate how the tank would change had Chobham armor been installed. This will be the case in game too, as it will not have the proposed Chobham armor package. Instead, it will have the previously mentioned metal-cladding, providing slight protection improvements, but in reality it is nothing to write home about.

Yet if it was russian vehicle, it would have such trinket installed… ngl…

Closer to 17 per ton as it weighs 56 tons, and has 900 HP so yeah it’s still not that bad.
T80UD is significantly lower than the 80B but still keeps up with it usually.

Got a source for that? as far as I’ve seen the mk900 had the upgraded elevation speeds as it was literally an upgrade program so why keep it at 5 .

The reverse speed will be much worse I imagine.

I am inclined to believe that it would have a better reverse speed, as it apparently had an upgraded transmission. It also should have regenerative steering, but that’s still not a thing in WT lol

There is a chance it will get better gun handling, its based off the MK.5P afaik but I havent found any solid data to prove that ever got the upgrades.

Either way, it is still much slower and would then only be equal in terms of fire control.

Why are we adding mock ups into the game?? give it it’s armor and intended specs (like the yak-141, ho-229, MSC etc) or dont add it all. Whats next an Abrams X at 2.3 because it’s gun and armor are a mock up and it can only fire the 30mm? absolutely ridiculous…

Also inb4 they give the Chieftain 900 it’s intended weight with the armor…

Cant find any to say it never either which is the issue im having, if it is based off a 5p then it should realistically have far better elevation speeds.

Theres no reason for it to be the base line elevation speeds.

Its not significantly worse as we know so far.
It lacks some mobility for an “increase” in protection as well as were unsure about elevation speeds.

This btw is what’s irritating me.
The mk900 doesn’t get it’s chobham.

The shir2 is artificially firing the L23 round, which went into service almost half a decade after it was cancelled.
As well as this L23 never existed.

Yet the MSC has all its bells and whistles

We will have to see how the protection is on the dev server, but it seems like it will just be thin structural steel.

It may work a tiny bit against heat, but it should realistically make no difference
