It’s the sologan of a British supermarket chain, “Tesco, Every little helps”
Tis a joke
Khalid at 9.0, I’ll take it.
I can’t see them putting it at a BR below the Khalid
Well, unless they give it the same ammo as the Khalid, but even then I believe it would end up being 9.3
I mean, it’s a worse Khalid, so I doubt it’ll be the same BR as the Khalid. (900hp vs 1200 of the Khalid)
Its worse than Khalid tho, as Khalid is enjoying 1217 hp engine. Otherwise its literally Khalid,as Khalid is also Mk.5 without Chobham and with LRF.
Fix the awful bugs and inaccuracies that have been around for years with the Challenger 2s?❌
Give Britain a good top tier IFV? ❌
Add a some old concept tank that will probably be full of bugs and inaccuracies that won’t be fixed✅
The thing is, it’s even newer than the Shir 2, so I am fully expecting gaijin to give it better APFSDS (L26 instead of L23)
Oh god, is it time already? It doesn’t feel right, am I going crazy or was the last update so ass that it ruined my perception of time?
it’s L23
Ugh, their devblogs are too long for my tiny brain to keep everything they say in mind
Sad. I was hoping for something with more firepower
Guess I’ll keep using the Olifant Mk.2 for the DM53 round (and thermals, lol)
It’s a sidegrade to the Cheiftain Mk.10, you get worse armour but a better engine and lower weight
If the Cheiftain Mk.10 was corrected to have its 850hp engine, then the Cheiftain 900 would basically just be worse
I think it would be perfect at 9.0 as it currently is, with composite it could be 9.3 or 9.7
Its almost like rite of passage
Yeah, I guess that’s true. The fake Chobham only helps against HEAT and otherwise the actual improvements that come with the upgraded transmission probably won’t even be modelled.
I was just falsely expecting it to get L26 because it was built later than the Khalid and even the Shir 2
can the other chieftains finally get their correct Engine Horsepower?
Mk.10+marksman (Mk.10 hull) - large buff(760hp → 851hp) ,
Mk.5 - nerf(760–>730),
Mk.3 - remains the same (660–> 659)

*730ps (from linked bug report)
“L23” doesn’t Exist, its only ever been “L23A1” (markedly better round in game)
“L23” akaik has only ever been shorthand for L23A1

and if we’re getting more Chieftain, can we get their reload fixed to not be glacially long?

The problem I see here is this:
-
The tank is not only not having composite modelled, they don’t even seem to be modelling the ballast that was put in place to do automotive tests taking into account the weight from composite.
-
Therefore, the tank will likely weigh the 56 tonnes as if it had composite/ballast, without having any of the added protection either of those would provide.
Ideally I think gaijin should just model structural steel blocks in place of the composite and call it a day, that is both historical and would provide at least some extra protection. otherwise we are going to get an overweight tank compared to how it would be with “hollow” turret armour as they want to add.
With regarads to L26 that became a thing mostly in the late 1980s just before the Gulf war, the Cheiftain 900 is from 1981 I believe, so a bit early.
That is exactly what I was thinking. If we are going to lack protection, don’t make the tank slower than it should be too
Yeah, the other option is removing the weight the composite/ballast would add and then making the tank faster in the process. However, I dont think we have any specific details of how much weight the composite added for them to do this.
Just had an epiphany. Gaijin is going to make a premium with the Chobham Armor.
I see through you…
and the planned 1000hp engine 0.0
That photo is of the hull + a CR.1 Turret used as a range target,
The Chieftain 900 turret was removed and used as a testbed for the Macrioni, then later used as part of the Chieftain 2000 programme.
