[Development] Chieftain 900: Royal Ordnance’s Chieftain

i personally really liked it a performed well on it, and i would certanly pick it over the TTs or the t62s, from 9.0s the only ones that i would say that they are better are the ztz88.

Don’t get me wrong I really like it and it’s probably my best performing tank but that’s because it fits my playstyle perfectly. However in the hands of a competent player the XM803 will have a bigger impact on the game on 90% of the maps.

I don’t think the Chieftain 900 had the stowage for APFSDS. It wasn’t until the 5/4 that APFSDS could be carried. It’s not even in the Chieftain 900 official brochure.

Id also like to point out that by updating the Chieftain mk3 to have its 30mph top speed, instead of the 25mph top speed, it should have also got access to the LRF.

As the upgrade set that raised the top speed, was also part of the upgrade set that added the LRF.

There’s a 2nd later brochure that lists APFSDS, posted by DevilO6

Yeah… 3 years after the British stopped testing the thing, and ROF was just trying to sell it as a Export tank. the Same brochure also mentions the Composite armor, AND the Thermals so.

That’s only different if you are referencing American .50 cals. Russian 14.5s also sometimes called .50 cals can pen the lfp of the rooikat, not sure if anywhere else, I just distinctly remember pushing a T-10M in the mk 1D and getting bullied my his MG

Not a massive issue, imo. ZA-35 is fine for 9.3. Falcon will be in your lineup, too. At 9.3, the missile SPAA is often better in theory than practice. Look at the French Santal (9.3), it’s so laughable easy to dodge its missiles that you often have to fall back to the AMX DCA.

huh?

You do realize .50cal means half a inch… 14.5s are not Half a inch. they are bigger.

Do you mean the Russian 12.7X108?

The Mk1D doesn’t have great armor but it’s enough to shrug off some mg fire. The survivability with its 4 crew and the small 76mm rounds is ok too.

Yes? Buffing the mk5 thusly would move it up, that is called compression.

The 120 MM L15A3 isn’t bad at all? You can pen the front of the 279 with it easily as well.

How on gods green earth are you struggling with a 279 in a chieftain? Genuinely asking .

Not really man, its also rn broken and has a faster top end speed at 49kmph for some reason…
The mk3 is magic at 8.7 and the slight difference in top end speed doesn’t change the gameplay of it at all.

Victory against unbuilt projects

That’s why I say the L23A1, because the Chieftain Mk10 is at a point where even with the L15A3 it can kill everything it finds, but if you find T-64s and T-72s (something common in Br9.0) you need the L23A1 to fight them, since whether you have the L15A3 or the L23, you need to shoot them under the front hull, while they only shoot at any part of the front hull to kill you.

I don’t understand why they didn’t give it a reload time of 5 seconds or so, knowing that it is a relatively small ammunition compared to the 105mm.

I’m using it in Br 9.3. I don’t really have any serious problems with it, but I see that I have a disadvantage against the T-64 and T-72, since I have to adjust the shooting to the extreme, while they shoot almost at random, so I have to kill them from the side to make sure. All this added to what we talked about before, that the Chieftain Mk10 in reality only used the L23A1 (something that is reported and accepted, but we already know gaijin and his speed to correct things).

Oh boy, here we go again…

Point? You saying there could be a nerf in the works or what

BSS rating produces a lower hp than DIN 70020, which is found in vehicles such as Leopard 2.

To translate it to common hooman:
HP are not converted to standard used in game, it will be over 900 in game.

Iirc 670kW is like 911 metric horse power, it is not going to be a huge difference
