Yeah, that or this one
Both the Rooikat 35/ZT3 and Rooikat LCT30/ZT3 would probably be better than Badger but the Badger is still cool and a nice addition
But the 60 RPM is only the burst mode and why would it be 100 or more RPM by its self but then put into a Badger thr fire rate is limited to burst
My guess is that the turret is specifically set up for the burst fire mode, which achieves about 60 RPM.
The gun itself probably is capable of a 100 RPM rate of fire, but only if it is set up in a different way.
(I’d imagine that it needs a different ammo feeding mechanism to achieve 100 RPM)
Spoiler
Or maybe the 100/110 RPM mentions are only theoretically achievable and not regular operation values
It wouldn’t be used. The GI-30 is the more official service designation of EMAK 30, and the EMAK 30 is based off the EMAK 35, even though it is scaled down, it still has the same fire rate and accuracy
Why would a turret be stuck in burst
You can literally see in the video i posted that the gI-30 is different from the Emak, at least for the subject of the badger as it uses the feed system instead of the belt that the GI-30 can also use just not in the badger. you can see its set up for a 3-burst mode even when going fully auto, as there is a forced delay between the shots due to limitations in the feed mechanism
The issue is its got the 40 round box mag feed system, you are never having 100 rounds a min with that in place, as you have to reload it, a process shown in the video i posted yesterday, its not a fast system.
Its not the turret, its the box feed system, its quite clear based on the documentation the SA have set this up as a more modern rarden system, as there is no mention of high rof, and instead snipping light targets at far range. It honestly reads alot like early promo stuff for the warrior.
Well when Britain get a half decent light vehicle it breaks the game! Maybe Gaijin should just put it at 10.3 and then they can lower it if it doesnt break the game
On a belt fed system bud, that is not what the Badger’s GI-30 is fitted with, its the 40 round feed system, with each shell having to be manually loaded.
The EMAK 30 was renamed to GI 30 but still the same gun. Maybe different feeding systems depending on platform but still the same. I only found out more recently the EMAK 30 was renamed to GI 30
Yes but still the same gun, just different loading systems
Loading systems directly effect the rof, a belt fed is vastly quicker then a box magazine, you phisically can’t get 100 plus rounds a minute if your limited to 40 out the gate and the reload is a second for each additional round. The high rate of fires for the Emak-30 are when it was originally a belt-fed system modified from the emak-35 which was itself a derivitave of a belt fed naval gun.
Its not just a renamed EMAK 30, it refers to the changed feed sytstem
The entire design for it is set up around it being like the rarden, your firing accurate single shots or 3 round bursts, allowing tactical flexibility with the options to change ammo nearly instantly due to the two feed box system. The way it works is as follows:
Do we have a picture inside the badger turret?
As that would allow us to check if it is belt fed or not.
GL-30 belt fed config
We know it’s fed, as it has the 3 round bursts, indicative of the feed system, as that was the Amek 30 lacks this capacity. The limiting factor for the badger isn’t the theoretical rate of fire of the gun, its the feed system, you can fire the gun at about 115 rpm, but the irl realistic rof is 60 rounds, as you have to have a twin box magazine of 40 rounds, 15 in one feed 25 in the other, and it uses a cycle shell extraction. so you’re not dumping the rounds down range for a sustained period.
Not quite. It is the same gun, the screenshot comes from the trials video, at the end they just replace the feed system. Gun firing modes stay the same.
Article from 2017 listing the design philosophy, and giving the rof of the three round burst. From my understanding there is a 0.53 second delay between rounds due to the shell removal system
Might be able to get one from Dewald Venter.
