[Development] Badger IFV: A Beast Yet To Come

Yes. It uses an actual autocannon. Not that that 25mm. I also has much, much better mobility

What i dont understand is why its such a high br, the guns ROF is 60 or so rounds a min in 3 second bursts, from a 40 round linkless magazine. The brochure people are passing around is the proof of concept brochure, and doesn’t reflect the vehicle as built, hence why everything is 3d images, it even says the design can change at any time at the bottom of said brochure, which others here have already pointed out is referring to the bushmaster not the gun as fitted.

Brochure people are quoting:

here is the current sales pitch for the turret:

a fellow member on the british suggestion forum just posted this gun test of it firing, yeah its 60 rounds a min give or take directly from denell. My guesss is that someone at gaijin has confused the intended initial armament which was the Denel 30 mm linkless Cam Gun (EMAK 30) with the actually implemented CamGun GI 30

Because while the hull is finnish, the modification and user is South Africa which is already a sub-tree for Britain, doesn’t make much sense for Sweden to get it
There are plenty of Patria options that Sweden can get that would function the same as this Badger

Afaik in a different fire mode it is 100rpm

you can watch the video, in full auto its still 3 round bursts

I like the turret but it is too big and bulky, it might struggle cause of it.

I would still rather have the missile variant…

… or just the Rooikat 35/ZT3 (or LCT-30/ZT3)

The FSV just carries an anti tank crew in the back instead of infantry

I mean yeah but I will still take it any day in week over pathetic excuse of gun that is 25 mm M242 pissmaster, this should have better mobility and ability to actually pen sides of tanks while being lower br then D. Warrior due to lack of ATGMs so it should be meeting more light vehicles, all in all for me Badger is big W and finally decent looking high tier IFV for Britain.

Im not sure how this thing is going to play, 60 rounds per min, with a 40 round magazine, limited to awkward 3 round bursts, your just looking at a bigger fox, with worse armour/speed and a stabalizer. If anything its a step down from the already over-tiered Desert Warrior, as the dart should be more or less identical to the rarden apds currently in game

At least it should shoot straight. Should being the key word. But it should also get an APFSDS round with pentration similar to the Puma’s gun

Its closer to the mk44 bushmaster in terms of pen, your probs looking at 116mm at point-blank on the flat.

Yeah, so similar to the PUMA with 121mm

Not really, it should be compared to the the MK258 on the VCC-80/30, seeing as the rounds are compatible with the Bushmaster 30mm system, meaning it would be most comparable to that albeit slightly worse as less muzzle velocity being 1,400 m/s. you’re honestly looking at something comparable to the APDS on the Rarden if anything. Also factor in the fact the Puma and the VCC-80/30 haVE a rof of 200 rpm, compared to the Badger’s 60 and and the only thing you can really compare it to is something with the RARDEN like the Fox or Scimmy, with a rof of 80 rpm and again comparable pen until you get to the 60 degree mark and all have more then enough to pen the sides of any mbt they bumble into.

So, for any other nation, would be around 9.7 ish but because its on the Britain TT, will be 10.7?

Wheels, thermal, gi-30 which will be similar to bushmaster 2 mk44, apfsds, 9.3 in south africa subtree

Basically, They seem to want to give the brits some sort of wheelie boy top tier light vehicle. As per the norm they completely forget the actual British options for something worse from SA which is a running theme. The logical choice should have been the Boxer, of which there are 3 different variants they could have added. The Lance, the RCT 30 and the Sampson, all 3 are 30mm cannon systems.

Lance ( Turret Systems | Rheinmetall ):

RCT 30 ( KNDS Group ) (most should recognize this as the PUMA turret)

Sampson turret (https://www.rafael.co.il/system/samson-30mm-integrated-rws/)
