Oh yeah!
I forget about them… Well, they are C&P and foldered anyway. The Italians did need them though!
Its sad that the nations who actually need SPAA arent getting them. E.g. France, Japan, Israël and Italy. (Mostly top tier, but France, Japan and Italy need more SPAA all around).
Type 99, and the Pzh2000 are very new arty systems, and are 7.3 / 7.7 respectively.
Although I do agree, all these arty systems could use a bump up by 0.3 br, and i literally mean every arty in the game.
But seeing as how they’re modeling this Russian arty with 15mm UFP RHA… which again, I don’t think is accurate, I’m sure it would be terrible to fight, it may be annoying, but at least it cannot flee like a type99
id bump every self propelled artillery piece up by 1BR rating.
I agree that sounds like a load of rubbish, the steel skin on the outside of T72 is about 60mm. they probably wont remove that as well as the composite. the vehicle still needs some structure at minimum. not sure of how much of a difference this will really make either due to the insane angle, all HE slingers would one shot it anyhow and all tanks arent gonna aim there
Because nothing was removed. Its not a T-72 with armour shaved off, its a new hull loosely based on the T-72/80 profile and sharing parts with both production lines. And being artillery, the new hull didn’t need anything more than 16mm.
Structural elements inside the hull generally aren’t included in the damage model. They aren’t armour-grade steel and they aren’t everywhere, so no real impact on protection.
15mm of steel is about as strong as 30mm of aluminium and that is deemed acceptable for recce vehicles. once again not a direct fire vehicle. if itself is getting shelled its already over as everything else collapsed
I’ve dropped in front of a moving Kugelblitz so he drove on top of my 2000lb bomb so it detonated right underneath him and it didn’t even track him!
I’ve also seen an open top SPAA get hit by a PE8 bomb and when the smoke cleared, he’s just sitting smack bang in the center of the creator still happily dakka dakkaring at the PE8.
