Destroying engines doesn't stop the vehicle

Hello guys,
I realised that after the last update whenever I shoot someone into the engine/destroying it, the tank just keeps going like 50m forwards and then it stops instead of instantly stopping after I destroy his engine. Is it a new feature or is it a bug? Have anyone else noticed it as well?

New feature, if the engine is shot, the tank can still roll without engine power until it runs out of momentum or brakes are applied

It’s a new feature. The only thing that i would like is to have the old break whenever you get the transmission. After all, you’re hitting THE part that makes the vehicle move.

Completely makes sense. Me rolling backwards when I’m pressing W and my engine is dead however… no sense.

I think its assuming you are putting it in neutral when pressing any “drive” key while engine is dead. So the tank rolls down hill either way you press.

That is what i was thinking, but maybe would be better if they add some percentage to ‘old brake’ when get transmission since its not every type of transmission break that stop the wheels wheeling

And just like that… makes a bit o sense.

You better watch yourself, sensebringer.

It does make sense, but it was so weird seeing it for the first time. I got very confused when I first saw it. I wish I could still brake to stop the vehicle though.

Personally I think its very overplayed, I shot an m24’s engine going up a hill, and it still managed to travel more than three times it’s length behind cover without stopping.

Yeah, it is also odd because it is something that we used to have. They removed it then decided to add it back i guess

This is realistic to real life; not a bug.

I’m glad they decided to add it too, because it helps quiet a bit with some vehicles, or if your super close to cover and can roll to it.

One dislike though is you can still do a braking turn in the tanks, it will just bleed a lot of speed, which isn’t implemented

M1 Battle override when on transmission hits?

For those who don’t know. The M1 have a shear pin putting it in direct drive and throttle controlled when the transmission goes. Super easy to burn the engine while doing it so with that excessive use a engine fail feature can be added - like when you over WEP your plain.

Tanks weigh 30-50 tons and more.
Why should they stop instantly even if damaged?
