That’s not good

Sincerly I’ll not believe that information. If you know who’s exactly Surfshark and who owns it (Nord Security) and their ‘interesting’ marketing, unless we have a official announcement from Gaijin regarding this potential issue, I would and recommend changing the passwords related to warthunder.com. And please; don’t focus only at the big words, read everything:

False positive, I don’t think this is in any way real, otherwise Gaijin would’ve ringed the bell immediately. Surfshark is a commercial “privacy” company, which already puts me off.

You people are so quick to jump to Gaijin’s defense…

It’s more realistic to me that this is credible and Gaijin doesn’t want to acknowledge it.

Only 38,800 or so accts?

Not much of a breach of gaijin with that minuscule number.

Even if that is true, if you have TFA enabled nobody can access your account but you.

That’s besides the point.

What a bizarre deflection.

It’s not just about your game account dude.

The real databreach occurs to those using SurfShark. You got played.

Hi!

We take data security very seriously at all times. We haven’t received any reports from our players on this matter, and found no cases of unauthorized access to any personal data on our end at this time. This alert is likely a false positive, or a result of generating artificial data, or using data from a breach unrelated to Gaijin. We will be also reaching out to Surfshark for further details to understand what this message means exactly.

As a reminder, in order to keep your data safe, please make sure to use a different and strong password for every website and change it regularly. Two-step authentication is also advised to use where possible.
