Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

Could be usable, if there’s a sureproof way of knowing the standard of the displayed aircraft’s. Personnally I’m not knowledgeable enough to identify standrads visually.

By reading the description it pretty much says that it’s an F3R used to showcase the upcoming new features of the F4. So basically the same as you directly presented an F4.1. Not usable. And considering release date of the vid it might in fact directly be an F4.1 as F4.1 was showcased in shows and exhibits last year already.

Yup that’s what I expected as well. Pictures from this particular display were likely already denied in previous reports anyway.

That guy says in “Point 3” (meaning F3.3) “we go from 6 to 8 possible missiles” indeed. Unless I’m wrong with what he means in “point 3”

Edit : Nevermind, Point 1, 2, 3 are just the pylon numbers.

Honestly, might be easier to teach the devs basic physics on how canards work to get them to unfuck the airbrake before I find anything even near to being on the launch parameters. Every single result winds up taking me back to the same source that doesn’t mention it. It is very annoying.

One of the main problems is that it is a showcase, what is presented at these events often differs from reality.

I see, i just thought it could be interesting material, but it seems to not be enough^^

To assert the possibility of being able to carry 8 missiles, an announcement from the manufacturer would be needed specifically saying that it is possible; relying on images or videos does not allow us to be 100% sure of the validity of the information.

Mica IR confirmed as not coming.

And you don’t want it to because it’d mean IRIS-T for Typhoon and honestly fuck that. Until MICA parameters are not fixed MICA IR is just gonna be as good as a Magic 2.

Going through the video a bit :
1:30 : The IRST can bu use to fire missiles. “everything is possible”, so no missiles are denied this possibility. It can detect multiple targets at once and track one target only

Spectra jammer and RWR

10:00 You can carry 2 scalp on each wings

12:05 MICA IR can. use datalink to follow radar cue until terminal vector

15:30 He specifically mentions that the AASM is for F4. He did not for the 8th missile pylon earlier ?

17:30 The IR variant is not used against moving targets. Rather, when it’s vertical, it will use object recognition to check it’s position using known GPS/satellite data to precisely hit its target

Report was made and accepted for 72 normals flares

It’s more of a suggestion tho. 32 LCM is still valid. It will depend on the goodwill of the devs

Well i hope they give more because IRCCM of missiles like AIM9M or AIM9L/I don’t ccare about size only if there is flare or not. Having more is better than having big.

Debatable.

I personally prefer large caliber flares.

Greetings fellow eurocanard enjoyers.

I am not too knowledgeable on the Rafale. I only know its a badass and highly capable jet.

Seems like it lacks IR missiles on DEV (not final I know)

IRL it uses MICA (NG) IR. Which have been denied already as being too strong if im not mistaken.

Could other IR missiles be used on it? Was perhaps it tested with Magic 2 or something?

My issue is the double drop of the large flares. 16 drops on the Rafale is really limiting when you need at least 4§5 drops for one AIM9M

We will probably have 2 wing tip Magic 2, that could replace 2 MICA

MICA NG is for F4.2 which isn’t in service yet. First MICA NG deliveries are to come in 2026 at best.
