when will they fix Rafale’s arrest hook then ? It’s dumb that the devs are not letting Rafale land on carriers even though IT HAS A GIANT ARREST HOOK ON THE MODEL. Is there a bug report made about this ?
I thought it was supposed to be working but the animation is broken

The Rafale HMD should be able to display tracked enemy aerial targets since radars do display IFF, but how would it be able to display enemy ground vehicles? Currently the Rafale does not have GMTI either.
Datalink, pre-saved data packs,… ?
My main problem currently is that it doesn’t display any hostile aerial target, even hard locked ones. >_>

None of the mechanisms we have in-game yet to my understanding.
Yeah, if he could change his report to just hostile aerial targets from the radar then maybe it could get passed.
Probably cause copied over from the A-10 which doesn’t have a radar.
Which really doesn’t matter considering allied ground targets are displayed regardless.

Which makes sense since tanks can have IFF, but there’s no way to identify ground enemy vehicles differently than the civilian ones unless there’s datalink, buddy lasing, etc. implemented into the game.
Or simply when lasing the enemy. Thankfully this do work and is pretty useful in simulator battles. I use both the laser lock and radar lock on my HID (or laser lock in HMD while tracking a plane in front with the radar HUD marker) to track 2 targets at the same time. One with the radar, the other with the OSF

im pretty sure its because it was take from aircraft that coulnt track air targets (A-10C and Heli’s) so they didnt bother. the AV-8B has the same issue with its HUD, they just ripped it from the GR.7 so it lacks any radar indication :(

This is correct, it works but since there is no animations it works only if you can make the arrestor hook make contact with the arrestor cable.

Although yes, STR has most to do with installed thrust.
F16 and F18. ;) But either way, it doesn’t supercruise. Never did, except on the Dassault’s brochure on LeBourget…once. :D
Less, particularly in Rafale’s case, much less.

Has S-shaped intake ducts, hiding fan/compressor blades.
Which is why the given RCS is frontal “average”, meaning somewhere is larger and somewhere is lower.
You see, side lobes being much larger than frontal and rear.
2m^2 for front aspect is quite a solid approximation for the naked Rafale.

After quite some time in Simulator with Rafale and EFT; the Rafale is besides its current issues a lot of fun to play, even against US teams.
My only issues with it at the moment are:
- missing Lock (PD Track and TWS) indicator on Scorpion HMCS
- missing Hostile (and more) markings on Scorpion HMCS
- missing full scan mode (140° x YY°) + higher scan speed
MICA EM performs quite good even though its missing some energy due to known issues and AASMs are great for wiping out grounds.

The range indicator would be great, don’t know why it take so long to be implemented (particularly to launch the magic2)
And the radar is quite underwhelming, I find pretty slow to acquire the first targets
And i assume you have a source to back that one up
And serration + composite and coating use
it has already been discussed, the model does not even look like a Rafale. The angle between the canards and the main wings does not correspond, the fuel probe angle isn’t even right, the main delta wing angle doesn’t match and who knows what else is wrong.
This one is already far more credible, because the model at least look like a Rafale. Do note though : it does not take coating or composites into account.
Most credible info for Rafale without any missile would be 0.1-1m^2, and considering the above simulation, it’s probably on the lower end of that span
