Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

This is correct, it works but since there is no animations it works only if you can make the arrestor hook make contact with the arrestor cable.

Yes, it’s been reported.

Passed.

Passed.

Although yes, STR has most to do with installed thrust.
F16 and F18. ;) But either way, it doesn’t supercruise. Never did, except on the Dassault’s brochure on LeBourget…once. :D

Less, particularly in Rafale’s case, much less.

Actually, it does.
Has S-shaped intake ducts, hiding fan/compressor blades.

Which is why the given RCS is frontal “average”, meaning somewhere is larger and somewhere is lower.

You see, side lobes being much larger than frontal and rear.
2m^2 for front aspect is quite a solid approximation for the naked Rafale.

Another small but missing detail:

After quite some time in Simulator with Rafale and EFT; the Rafale is besides its current issues a lot of fun to play, even against US teams.
My only issues with it at the moment are:

  • missing Lock (PD Track and TWS) indicator on Scorpion HMCS
  • missing Hostile (and more) markings on Scorpion HMCS
  • missing full scan mode (140° x YY°) + higher scan speed

MICA EM performs quite good even though its missing some energy due to known issues and AASMs are great for wiping out grounds.

Yeah

The range indicator would be great, don’t know why it take so long to be implemented (particularly to launch the magic2)

And the radar is quite underwhelming, I find pretty slow to acquire the first targets

And i assume you have a source to back that one up

And serration + composite and coating use

it has already been discussed, the model does not even look like a Rafale. The angle between the canards and the main wings does not correspond, the fuel probe angle isn’t even right, the main delta wing angle doesn’t match and who knows what else is wrong.

This one is already far more credible, because the model at least look like a Rafale. Do note though : it does not take coating or composites into account.

Most credible info for Rafale without any missile would be 0.1-1m^2, and considering the above simulation, it’s probably on the lower end of that span

But if gajin ready add 6x MICA IR instead 2x magic 2 on Rafale C F3-R after decompression BR to 14.3

No problem Rafale C F3-R lose feature Scorpion HMCS

Reduced to 6 MICA EM

Rafale F4.1 ~ F5 standard full Scorpion HMCS capabilities

AASMs are cool because you can loft them from really far away and it looks spectacular. ideally with a friend so that 1 run takes out an entire base

idk what’s wrong with him tbh

Compressor blades are not the only parameter affecting the RCS

I’m not even going to analyze this nonsense.

2m^2 is an acceptable value for Rafale

How dare you, it’s actually 0.000000001m^2

man i really hope they fix IR MAWS. last time i played it still picked up flares and dead bodies :(

found this cool Rudolf picture, thought i would share

AL-Tariq For the F3R when?

did the rafale carry any sort of ecm/countermeasure pods? been playing and dodging countless amraams throughout a match burns through that 100 chaff pretty quick

It has an integrated EW suite with three jammers : one at the rear base of the tail (where a drag chute is located on some other aircrafts) and two front facing at the base of the canards (the black rectangle is the antenna)

However it does not carry chaff/flare pods

Dear baguettes I need some pointers. Full disclosure I am a Eurofighter flyer and there is only 1 jet I am truely scared of, and that is the Rafale. I am NOT calling faul, or BS, or “MICA OP”, or “Nerf Rafale” or any such thing.

I am ONLY summing up my experiences and trying to learn what to do.

I feel like if there is a Rafale close to me theres little I can do. It forces me instantly defensive due to the MICA tracking and correcting so well that if I get out of the notch for just a millisecond it will correct instantly and nail me.

I will just straight up RUN from Rafales if I can but if I do not notice them in time, which happens often because my Radar is just the microwave from the Gaijin HQ lunchroom thrown inside my nosecone.

Dogfights are off the charts because theres 15 of your teammates around who are likely also in Rafales so that leaves me with very little options.

What does the Rafale NOT do? What are its disadvantages? How do YOU struggle against Eurofighters, (if you even struggle with them at all)

Thanks
