Out of curiosity, can you help any the airbrake (for want of a better word) situation? The lack of controlled means to slowdown whilst having air to ground ordnance that can only be launched below mach 1 is pretty rough. It may not be critically important to others focused on the fighter aspect, but I like ground attack and was looking forward to rafale for it, and this is very not okay. Makes it barely functional in the role.

For Rafale speed limit, it not a problem of structure of intax, jsute of tests. Tests are made for M 1.8, but there is classified report ( I dont have them and even, i dont look for problems) stating that Rafale ever reach M 2 because the pilot try to running some issues on his tail :) .
(I friend who worked for dassault on M 1.8 tests for Rafale tell me that)

If you set the POI and don’t touche it, basically what the new map allows you can fire the AASM at well above 30km. GPS ammunitions are about to get a lot more dangerous.

also i have a question about the rafale ofs and the ir/gps ver of aasm
since rafale has ofs built in, do we still need to take the damocles when we equip the ir/gps or just gps versions of AASM?
In theory no.
Technically the OFS even has a laser for distance detection and could perhaps guide the AASM Laser (unfortunately the visibility sector would prevent precise aiming)

its a scorpion HMD on a LA-100 as far as i am aware, the LA-100 has been the standard for a while for both the Rafale and Mirage 2000
