Unironically they should fix this if they are going to be adding F-22/F-35/Su-57/J-20 like the leaker said which devs had planned for this December. It does make me feel like we haven’t been asking for enough if they’re going to make the idiotic decision to add 5th gens this year’s end patch.
- Supercruise at Mach 1.4 at 40,000 feet altitude using 80% engine thrust
Yeah, not a chance that is real and if it gets implemented the Rafale is going to have to move up in BR signfiicantly.
Also gotta love the false flagging. Try and question a bug report by a guy known to make up sources/mis-interpret sources and you get flagged
Least your Radar works imagine trying to detect and lock Gen 5 with Captor-M…
Best part is that the source used was an internal document, so no reason for them to lie to themselves. Can’t say marketing fluff/propaganda.
Just gotta hope that Captor-E is well on its way before Gen 5 is added…
It also only gives you a singular source though. The fact that 4+ European partners have all claimed what Typhoon can do and it is considered a lie.
I don’t think Gaijin care about where or what the source is. If they want to buff or nerf an aircraft they will use whatever source they like.
Gen 5 at Xmas…Maybe a new Typhoon with new missiles…
or an F-35B
Would rather take the eurofighter.
Hard to view the F35 particularly the B as an upgrade over eft or Rafale. Both IRL and in game
Unfortunately, Gaijin has installed thrust numbers or something to that effect and don’t believe Eurofighter is missing any thrust.
Words cant describe how uninteresting the F-35B is to me.
It’s the heavier underpowered version that can hover will also be the weakest version.
Pretty nutty performance upgrade. I have mixed emotions. Then again I’m not far off the Rafale sooo……
Yes believe is the issue, they cant disprove it.
They just don’t believe it, It’s like dealing with the flat earth society
yeah. Well. Im testing the Typhoon now. at 40k ft at 100% thrust with 60% fuel and 2+4 fit and I can only sustain a Supercruise speed of 1.29/1.30 (primary sources show 1.5)
So I do not beleive the Rafale can do 1.4 at 80% throttle. That is just some fanciful numbers unless of some wild facts like min fuel, no weapons and ammo and maybe also stripped equipment.
And its Mulatu. I trust his sources/interpretation of sources about as well as I can read french
What I often find telling is despite Typhoons many Tranches and proposed upgrades the engines and flight performance are never a concern.
Whereas Rafale are upgrading their engines despite having vastly superior performance to Typhoons?
The Math is not mathing
thats approaching raptor levels of supercruise speed. maybe in a shallow dive clean with low fuel
This is the wrong thread for that discussion, but the Eurofigher early-on did have the option of TVC nozzles developed, and also a thrust upgrade to 120kn from the 90kn, via replacing some components of the compressors with crystalline composite variants, and iirc increasing engine temps, which is what I expect T-REX to include.
However as you do rightly assert, such upgrades were deemed unnecessary, despite both the nozzle and EJ200 Tranche 2 being fully developed.
I expect the Tempest 6th gen to utilise to EJ200 tranche 2 engines on the prototype as the first and only usage for them.
To be fair, France is upgrading their Rafale soon for the 3rd/4th time (PESA → AESA → AESAw/GaN → RBE2-XG) with another ESA radar while European countries still use mechanical, so that isn’t really an argument to use.
Not true, Raptor is claimed to be having Mach 1.8-1.9 supercruise speeds, I won’t be surprised when people put in reports for that.
Well if you were to utilise the ‘upgrading’ turn of phrase as in currently being done, then so are the Europeans, and it would be one of very few gimballed AESA’s.
To play devils advocate for both sides here.
