Rafale is just crazy in game.

Let’s see what other buffs the next major update offers for the Rafale

3 more days until dev server. I’m not even excited about the trailer other than to see if they’ll show IRIS-T launch. But otherwise dev server is #1 goal to see what changes come for Rafale/MICA.

I mostly want to see 0 speed thrust vectoring missile launches. Will be funny to see it spin out

I’m coping that they’ll finally get around to fixing the thrust-vectoring mechanic to make it work on the IRIS-T VL, which would translate to benefits for the MICA, but otherwise I’ll also laugh if it keeps spinning out at 0 speed launches.

One question, why do people say the NG series of MICA cannot be added?
From what I understand, it’s been test fired, similar to other missiles like the r-77m.
If a weapon has been tested, then it’s eligible for the game right?
ALSO MICA NG radar variant has an aesa right?

Considering how much people liked to see the SP3 pylons on Rafale F3R i doubt they’d be pleased to see MICA NG anytime soon.

I don’t know if people have misspoken but I have not seen any evidence showing that MICA NGs have been test fired, only that a 2021 source stated test firing was planned for 2022, but no confirmation has ever been shown to my knowledge. For whatever reason, France is remaining tight-lipped regarding testing confirmation beyond a single testing date.

It would very much surprise me however if no testing was done as the MICA NG is confirmed to be delivered later this year. France has no choice but to upgrade to MICA NGs as the current stock of MICAs are at risk of defects due to very old materials (in particular the pyrotechnics) nearing 30 years in age.

Yes, MICA NG EM has AESA.

I wish they would fix MICA ( Overall TVC fix are also welcome :) ) first.

It can’t because not in service, but in a few months that won’t be an issue

As DirectSupport mentionned, no evidence of a test fire, although they most likely already did it

The current MICA is also underperforming in terms of range, so there’s also that if it struggles against its peers, which it currently does not, tbh

And MICA NG does in fact get an AESA seeker

So no premium F-47 (Early) until it enters service?

2s38 would like to have a word with you.
Anyway, we will have to look at the news in the next few minthd. MICA NG should enter service by the end of the year, maybe there will be a news post about this

In 2022 the different armies start receiving renovated older MICA, receiving new pyrotechnics so they can last up to the 2030s, so the MICA NG isn’t completely necessary in that aspect :

Badger IFV for example is not in service in south african army yet it’s coming it has nothing to do with in service or not. Also a lot of vehicles use mods that gives them an armament they never got in service. Look at Mirage 2000-5F for example or Mirage 2000D RMV. Hell there is even some vehicles in game that never entered active service and stopped at proto stage most blatant example is USSR with all their objects and shit and their unfinished ships.

The bare minimum requirement (unless its soviet) is for evidence of at least one test fire.

For example SRAAM never entered service but was test fired 8 times. Now we have evidence of it being test fired, a Spear-3 Suggestion has been put in. Etc etc.

So just need that evidence and there is nothing stopping it from being suggested.

Though…

Means it would either come with the a MICA EM Seeker just with the better range or not at all until we had equal performance weapons for everyone else.
