Ah fair enough, I misunderstood your post -_-
Starting by having it not overperform in the same area’s the EFT was overperforming would be nice. But yeah, I agree it shouldn’t have been added so early.
You cant see it cuz the ppl in this thread mass flagged it as off-topic despite it being a video discussing the Rafale in WT
There is a pretty easy way. Removing the HMD or the 2 extra MICA the jet was erroneously given would be the best way to start.
Removing the 2 extra missiles would drop its combat endurance/impact to that of a light fighter (down to F-16/Gripen level)
Removing the HMD would reduce its ability to just sit near the notch while baiting ppl in and fire HOBS MICAs with literally no counterplay available from other players. Would also reduce its situational awareness in air SB.
While I agree, don’t give them reasons to add an even more advanced Rafale variant XD
At this point, adding an F4.1 wouldnt make much of a difference anyways unless they also gave it new missiles.
Realistically, most nations ingame are now pretty well balanced at this point, with France being a massive problem and outlier in air to air combat.
The clear fix to this is to remove the stuff it was given that it should not have. Either one or both (its way more reasonable to remove one of the 2 and re-assess).
Btw, the jet is so problematic, one of the players from BIH mentionned that in test formats for a tournement where Rafale is legal ends up with the meta just being everyone plays Rafale because nothing else comes close, and he hopes its completely banned from the tournement scene until something is done.
Whether I agree or not, it would be an unfruitful endeavor, we would be wasting time on this. The HMD had been tested, you’d have to be consistent and ask for it to be removed on the Gripen A, Yak-141, and Mirage 2000-5F as well. There’s no point in harping on things that the French community by and large does not wish to see and also that fulfilled Gaijin’s requirements. Something that I think should be “nerfed” and largely has the French community’s agreement is removing the Mirage F1’s Magic 2s.
It should be removed from the other jets as well seeing as they did not operate it, im not sure why you think id be against that. The gripen A and M2K5F ( particularly deserve it to be removed as they both exist at BR’s where almost nobody else have HMDs, so its particularly unbalanced for such good airframes to retain HMDs.
(Edit: For some reason I was thinking of the M2KCS5 when I said the M2K5F was at a BR where jets usually didn’t have HMDs, which is also a mistake, cuz the CS5 doesn’t have an HMD, my mistake. The M2K5F losing HMD and getting dropped in BR a bit wouldn’t be bad though)
Thats a silly argument. You said theres no way to fix the Rafale problem. A solution was provided, and now you dont think the solution should be discussed because “there’s no point in harping on things that the french community by and large does not wish to see”?
You’re just admitting the french community is biased and refuses for balance to be brought back to the game with respect to the Rafale.
You guys are just enjoying abusing your broken plane and refusing to discuss the fact its broken or any ways to fix the issue.
As a sidenote, other possible solutions are arguably worse for the game, either because they will skew the imbalance some more across other nations, or will add munitions that have ranges that further exacerbate issues like map sizes and player counts.
It’s not a silly argument, it is quite sensible and commonplace that when something is in a grey area, the feedback/input surrounding the subject is determined by the feedback of the community. If the community by and large did not want to remove Magic 2s from Mirage F1 for exmaple, I would not bother bringing it up. Part of life is learning to work with others and knowing what changes you can make where you can.
For instance, you’ve been wasting your time arguing about removing HMDs from the Rafale when you could have made a suggestion thread or aircraft thread advocating for removing HMDs from multitudes of aircrafts that fulfill certain criterias, but presumably you’ve been avoiding doing that because you’d know you’d receive pushback from the community at large.
I’ve already said, and many here similarly have said something to the same effect that the Rafale was introduced too soon and the Mirage 2000-5F could have just been fixed and moved up to 14.0, it is still pending a climbrate report which would increase its acceleration as well and just last patch had its topspeed increased and is now one of the fastest aircrafts on the deck. It also had MAWS sensor fusion added as well. It would be fine at 14.0. Still needs to have its 8 missile loadout removed down to 6. That is far more realistic and arguable.
Also, this would be a relatively controversial statement but it is fine if Rafale is “broken” (overpowered) if it gets certain things fixed such as doing 20Gs or whatever. For years Russia, Germany, and US has been dominating in air, so it is healthy for the French tech tree to introduce more players into its tech tree and giving players reasons to grind the tree and thus the aircraft.
With how powerful the Rafale is, players are assured that it is going to remain relevant into the future when/if they decide to grind it knowing the grind will be worth it rather than regretting the grind as I have noticed that was one of the biggest reasons for why players have yet to play France. With a slew of more buffs this last update coming alongside the Su-30SM and F-18C Late, players were able to see that the Rafale still had a place in the game and any concerns of Rafale becoming outdated were misplaced.
Fixing the MICA alone would have enabled the 2000 to remain fairly competitive at top tier methinks.
Yup, multitude of reports were all there if they thought the M2K had been suffering and couldn’t compete at top tier but instead for whatever reason they had added the Rafale and similarly, I also believe they added the Eurofighter too soon too. F-18C, F-2, J-11B should have been added before Rafale/Eurofighter/Su-30SM but I don’t think the Germans would have been happy with such a prospect as they would have had to wait and continue playing with their F-4F ICE.
The hype moment and aura was too good to pass unfortunately.
Unfortunately when the F-15E and it’s Israëli one got their improved engine the writing was on the wall that FM powercreep was about to happen.
As far as germany goes, Gaijin could have easily given them a F-16 one way or another.
convenient.
All of those planes would be better off without it. Especially the Gripen A. I would support that change.
I agree with this too.
If those MICA changes are historical, then yeah I think this too.
Even being honest, the Mirage 2000-5F is still competitive in the top tier, in simulation it is still one of the most fun planes to play (in my opinion).
Mostly the range I’m thinking of, but unlike the IRCCM of the Magic 2 back in the days, there is no way to tell wether it’s being intentionally kept as is for balance reasons or if it’s a technical issue.
Bis repetita for the R-77, and with a similar situation where fixing both the missile and the plane that carries it would have made it good enough to not push out the Su-30 so early.
Totally agree, a well-modeled Mica and Magic 2 would have made it an aircraft completely fit for the current top tier (even if some wouldn’t agree).
For the Mica, I must admit that it’s currently quite problematic. During my last simulation with the plane, the missile started to vibrate and make circles (like an SRAAM would on the Harrier Gr1 at low speed) while aiming at a target 10km in front of me. As a result, I overtook the missile after 5 seconds because it no longer had any energy.
Though the argument could be made, they are already in game, they are just left underperforming so singificantly that they arent really competitive at the moment.
I would consider the EFT with ECRS Mk1 to be its proper counterpart with EFT ECRS Mk2 using GaN technology being comparable moreso to Rafale F4.2 which got its radar and jamming systems upgraded with GaN and is due to come to service later this year.
