Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

i just noticed the air intakes get more to the side the more you go towards them first EF2000 having them below then rafaelle having them a bit to the side and then gripen having them all the way on the side

But the point was and still is that AIM-9M is a joke in that regard compared to R-27.

Not having every IR missile defeated by a single flare is going to be nice.

Ah, I remember posting chipmunk pictures on Storm Warning trailer day

The fuel boom makes it look better imo. It makes it look more practical

what noo just no first it destroys the symmetry and it makes it look as if has one of those warts on the nose

No, fighter jet is supposed to have refuel thing. I mean I guess they could’ve had a boom style but idk if France can afford those tankers since they are really big and they would need a lot of them

fun fact:

gripen also has a refuling boom

yes but its not fixed like one the Rafale

Eurofighter and Gripen both have refuelling probes. They fold theirs away for better aerodynamics / RCS though, which I’d argue makes them more practical.

(Pretend Gripen is in the title too)

I think Rafale has it like that to reduce cost and increase reliability due to less moving parts. Personally, I think it is worth the aerodynamical penalty, since what happens if the fueling probe doesn’t open up

i mean

i could rename it to “Eurocanard battlefield”

Why I love Rafale

because it has botox injections?

Well it’s a plane with composites so yes, they all do.

But no Angelina Jolie’s are natural just emphasized and Rafale pulls em off too
