We are playing France not the AdA, if you REALLY want to go there then we can delete all experimental planes from the game and all who never entered service, because their nations respective armies never used them
AFAIK Dassault is French and makes by extension, French aircraft
But idk some people here out of nowhere seem to want to make an example out of the Rafale for historical accuracy
Let’s be real, if the playerbase at large knew how to BVR, not a single missile currently ingame would hit past 20km. But we’re not living in a fantasy la-la-land where everyone knows how to play. In a typical 16v16 Air RB match, half the pilot dies without firing a shot, or at best suicide to get their one kill in a head-on trade.
The only thing important in Air RB is “Can the plane take advantage of the chaos to score kills ?” and Rafale answers this with a resounding “Yes”.
I wish we could have Air RB EC, where multirole plane would be able to bring mixed armament, and where strong radar and strong BVR capabilities would be a good thing to have. The Air RB mode is extremely barebone as it is. But Rafale can still perform in it quite well.
Tbh, I stopped using my Aim120 past 20km. It almost always misses. I rather fly around the map a bit wait for the events to unfold, then I try to use AIM120 up to 20km. Even there alot ppl manage to avoid it. MICA on the other hand is a guaranteed kill. Something is strange with this missile (or Rafales radar?). Things I do to evade AIm120 won’t work. Ppl also start to complain in game chat about Rafales. Some claiming MICAs are bugged.
I honestly hope that sometime they bring RB EC, because the actual RB is really bad, they’re literally 5min. teamdeathmatch game with no incentive.
And yeah it would be cool to be able to use air to ground ammo for those, because i never played ground RB and would love to use the Omnirole part of the Rafale, even against AI with clear objectivs
cos^1.3 to cos^1.5 comes from the study “On the use of AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) Radar and IRST (InfraRed Search&Track) System to Detect and Track Low Observable Threats” I already talked about a couple days ago
I really don’t understand the persons fighting against a lower loadout in missiles when half of the things in game are already not accurate, especially the way we are playing, and they know that, rafale is not even decent to start with, and as always those that hoped one second that gaijin would have better servers to fix mica face the reality, there will be no fix, i’m not joking we have more luck of asking for an aim120 that would be 80% of what the mica em should be minus the high g pull than having the mica fixed with how deep the issue is.
2 more missiles for the f3r which at last news would be ACCURATE enough for the game or just replacing it to an f4.1at least would make it less painful and more confy as even at close range mica succeed to miss a lot, magic 2 is way more reliable in all honesty.
It’s definitely not. It’s one of if not the fastest missile in time to target below 15km and has insane pull. It’s by far the best missile for close to mid-range engagement (below 20km, where most of Air RB happens). While the Aim120 puts more pressure on the target, it starts giving warning at 20km, and it seriously sucks at close range. The R-77 is the middle ground, having better range than the MICA but less overall pull and huge drag.
The only thing that truly need fixing on the MICA is the proximity fuse.
Please care to point to those ‘‘wrong’’ things i said if you want to make such an argument …
No , as previously stated im just pointing to the fact that MICA-EM range is a country mile from what it is declared to be by primary sources . From there we can derive two solutions :
Gaijin fixes MICA-EM FM and x6 missiles are ok for the current state of the game . Yes it is the preferable solution … YET … the most unlikely .
Gaijin implements the x8 loadout which has been proven at this point to be technically possible on F3R which is the only criteria that matters for the game ( WT doesn’t care about operational service ).
How would x8 loadout fix MICA-EM deficiency in long range BVR you asked ? Well im glad you asked , it won’t , that was never the argument made.
The argument was to give the Rafale an advantage in the numbers of FOX-3 it can carry which will help at shorter ranges ( MICA-EM remains excellent for the sub 20km engagement range ) to offset for the deficiency at long range , instead of the actual setup where both Rafale and EF have x6 FOX-3 while the EF retains a massive advantage in BVR. Does this sound balanced to you ? Cause to me it doesn’t.
