Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

I don’t get why people are trying to get Rafale nerfed even further even though it’s gutted right now

Enough with your constant nerf demands for Rafale.

You’re doing nothing but complaining how broken Rafale is when it just another good addition to top tier but as usual you cant accept that a minor nation recieves something good after for a long time.

You’re constant cries are not welcome in here so take your attitude and leave this place.

None of this is crying about anything tho lmao.

So you are aware that we can see you’re a dishonest git who’s focusing on the issue, then crying when folk call you out for being a bit of a tool. Regardless, I’m not bothering with this further. I can only tolerate so much of you before being too harsh for this forum.

You ever get tired of personal attacks on ppl just because you dont like their opinion?

You literally constantly ignore anything I say about buffing the Rafale, or how I like the Rafale, etc… and just focus on the one thing you dont like my opinion on, its getting really pathetic.

I cant even compliment the Rafale in this thread without you hurling insults at me, and I know you’ve already been warned against personal attacks in this thread before.

I think Rafale C, B & M F4.1 it might should own vehicle

Were there any Rafale that had parachute installed?

According to the bug report that started this whole mess, many/all french F3R’s are being/have been modernized to the F4.1 standard, which includes the integration of Scoprion HMD, GMTI, and 8 MICA pylons in french service.

Anyways, ppl are gonna jump on my back for breathing in this thread, so maybe a good idea to drop the topic?

Just for your information, Scorpion HMD has been tested for compatibility on pre-F4 units too

A lot of us (including me) are just disappointed because we hoped the Rafale would be on par or better then the Typoon and we dont want to see the Rafale lose one of its few advantages. That is why people are kinda over reacting. But I agree that we should let everyone have ther options and not turn to insult.

Just like the 8 missiles XD

That was trialed, and compatible with the standard.

Probably a good idea we dont even know if the nerf is happening or not so might as well wait and see what happens

I get that it sucks having your fav plane mismodelled or nerfed, I’ve literally ALWAYS supported the Rafale being modelled accurately, and have advocated for buffing things that are underperforming but everyone is completely ignoring that part of what I said and fixating on the other part which would result in a historical nerf.

Modelling stuff accurately also means things being nerfed if said thing is historically accurate. It sucks but accuracy is a double edged sword.

The reaction in this thread regarding that has been full of vitriol. The EFT threads in no way got this toxic when I said stuff like id prefer the german EFT remains without PIRATE IRST, or that the EFT should likely stay at 6 AMRAAM’s until proven without a doubt that i can do otherwise, or when I supported the removal of smokeless motors on the 9L/i-1

I’d say that most of us were aware about Rafale shortcomings aswell as its strong sides especially in WVR, 1 circle fights and low speed performance in general compared to EFT but none of us would’ve guessed for Gaijin to butcher it this much with EFT doing everything better.

And it IS as good as the Typhoon. I’m tired of the overreaction of this thread. It’s seriously frustrating. It’s an amazing aircraft that absolutely clean house in RB and has unique advantage in Sim. Any CC worth their salt (Tim’s, DEFYN, etc.) are absolutely praising it.

Is it as good at launching 8 AMRAAM and going back home as the F15E or the Typhoon ? No.

It is however an absolute menace if it manage to close the gap. It has the agility at all speed to counter anything you throws at it provided the pilot knows what he’s doing. More than HALF my death on the Mirage 2000-5F are due to mid/close-range Aim120 launched at me while I’m above mach, because the Mirage lock-up at high speed and cannot turn fast enough to dodge a 120 launched at 8000 meters. Rafale doesn’t care. It has insane nose authority.

And on maps where you can use terrain masking it’s also extremely potent at showing up, launching an unavoidable MICA and dipping out.

AND on top of that, in Sim it has a unique HMD system which IFF the entire freaking map with unlimited range. The situational awareness is unparalleled on a plane that already is a situational awareness king. Oh, and also, IRST.

I know this issnt for this thread but I thought the entire point of the -1 was the smokeless engine that was going to be made in germany?

Apparently not, Bowie posted sources that the L/i-1 didnt have a smokeless motor, unless something else was posted since that countered that point.

I dont think theres any real clear data on what the differences are between the L/i and L/i-1 are tbh. The documentation on the subject seems horrendous and "9L seems to often be used as the designation instead of adding all the extra garbage to the back

Its radar also blows most/all other radars ingame out of the water atm from what it looks like, with unparralleled volumetric scan rates

The difference is that the Scirpion was tested by the French army while the 8 missile configuration was tested by Dassault, not by the French army.
