I wouldn’t get too excited just yet. The Tornado GR.1 has outer sidewinder pylons on it’s wings in the CDK which it never used (IRL or in game). Of course it is possible Gaijin will add those pylons to the Rafale, but not certain.

Why wouldn’t it ? MICA has an active radar onboard and the IRST is also a rangefinder. With datalink involved it’s absolutely not absurd to launch an ARH within maddog range from an IRST lock.

I hope UK doesn’t get the Rafale. The reason being, UK already has access to the Gripen and Eurofighter. They will also have access to the F-35 when 5th gens are added. If they get Rafale too, would there be any reason to grind any other nation ? You could just grind UK air and get every nation’s top tier jets

And smin confirmed indian rafale would NOT come in UK tech tree (doesn’t mean would come either in french tt, and yeah i don’t have his message saved), and i remind you that all additions from a subtree will not necessarily come to the game.

I don’t think you even have to be within maddog range. As long as the IRST can get accurate enough data on its target, it should be able to share that data with the radar for it to guide the missile in datalink.
Gaijin might choose not to add it, however, for balancing or implementation reasons.

To be clear we have never said any spesific Indian vehicle would not come to the game. We simply said that a nation having a sub tree does not mean every vehicle possible to add will necessarily come.

Although saying that I wouldn’t be surprised with if an top tier Indian aircraft were to come since we are getting Indian SPAA’ like hotcakes
You do realise that this could be like a year or 1.5 year max ?
I’d expect the F-22A in around September and then other nation main will moan ect so we are back to square one.
I’m not saying the Typhoon rubbish but like the dev’s say it will add a bit of diversity and plug that long gap.
My only point is that UK shouldn’t have access to EVERYONE’s top tier jets. Such as Rafale. They already have Gripens (Sweden’s latest jet), Eurofighter (Germany and Italy’s latest jet, also their own), Tornado (their own jet), will get F-35 when 5th gens are added (US + a few other nations).
I’m just saying UK shouldn’t get the Rafale because then you can play almost every nation’s top tier jets just by grinding UK’s air tree.
