The biggest issue at the moment is the high alt drag. It has basically none. Where everyone else hits a brick wall of drag. That needs to be fixed asap.
After that it’s more that everyone is massively underperforming like MICA EM got a unique seeker but equivalent bug reports for AMRAAM are being actively ignored. Either make them all identical or action reports for all, the cherry picking this past year has been infuriating

Though I just found a pic of a Rafale A with two MICA mockups in tandem on the centerline, which I find pretty interesting… If only they had actually done it on operational variants, imagine a Rafale with 10 missiles lmao xD

Rafale A was tested with that pylon config to figure whether it could be done serially or not - There also were different variations of the pylon, but was ultimately srapped (I don’t remember why).

They probably just didn’t see a purpose to that, otherwise they could’ve as well designed twin racks for wings. But 6 or 8 missiles is probably considered sufficient in their doctrine (which I guess makes sense?)
It’s not that the rafale is overperforming (the high altitude drag is not nearly as impactful to the gameplay as some might try to make it sound like)m rather that over systems are either not up to par or just underperforming (AMRAAM being both - even with improved seeker it would still be subpar compare to MICA in the current META).
Basically, we’ll have to wait for either better missiles (especially HOBS) for everyone to level the playing field OR change fundamentally the underperformances of all top tier missiles in notching and multi path. This would make longer range missiles MUCH better than they are since it’s currently insanely easy to dodge say an AMRAAM at 15km when a MICA is extremely hard to defeat sub 5km
AFAIK it was not done for structural reasons as the engine trap is on the bottom so that they can be dismounted rapidly. Plus potentially some aerodynamical/low observability reason as well ig
Rafale is indeed closer to say an EPA than usual prototypes that were introduced (like the YAK141) as it was never meant to fire live ammunitions. I believe some electronic systems were tested but that’s about it

Tbf, it seems ASRAAM might be worse than AMRAAM for HOBS as it is currently, so it might be a case of “be careful what you ask for”

Ooof that doesn’t look good…
That’s cuz current CAMM is broken.
It’s fin AoA is too small, it does not reach its intended G pull. It also has this weird delay while launching, that also makes it less maneuverable than it should be.
Probably other things I have not checked, but thats going off topic.
