Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance - Part 2

it makes sense on the standpoint of showing off how much better their new missile is compared to their old one

This implies that MBDA, which services many of the same European countries that uses AIM-120, don’t have real data on the American missiles also.

just because Colt sold M4’s to the US military doesnt mean they had real specific data on the B-2

Does it also display rwr contacts on hmd? As well as identity the friendly by plane?

Then that’s not an F3-R, that’s an earlier standard. And it would be cool to have earlier Rafales of course, but what they added is the M F3-R so it is fine how it is. Though it does give the opportunity for a M F1 before it

there is a red H on the hmd hud shown in a video from an earlier post. its likely hostile radar contacts being tracked in TWS.

Since the Talois can detect and show moving ground targets wouldn’t that imply they would show up as hostile surface contacts in the hmd via the rafale’s data computer from data of the tgp?

By the way is there anything new about the Rafale coming next update since we’re getting the M? Like, idk, the exocet maybe?

I din’t think Exocet will come and for one reason :

It seems they are ramping up antiship missiles development in view of next patch

That being said Hawk is added with Sea eagle this patch, so idk

What’s for sure though, march should be an interesting patch when it comes to antiship missiles

I’m pinging Smin so they’ll give us the Exocet; we’ve been waiting for that missile for far too long.

I’m so fed up that I made a thread in the dev server topics.
It’s time to add the Exocet - Dev Server “Line of Contact” / General Discussion - Dev Server - War Thunder — official forum

I agree it’s been sitting in the files for too long

As a matter of fact, someone made a video using it on a Su57 model in a custom made mission

I genuinely don’t know why they don’t add it since it’s ready, but maybe they want to keep it as the “star of the show” for an antiship missile / naval focused update, who knows

I don’t know either.

But right now, with the addition of a Rafale M, it’s the perfect opportunity to add it. I don’t see why they’re waiting; the British, Japanese, and Chinese have already had their missiles. Even the Russians have received the KH-59, which is similar to an anti-ship missile.

I swear at this rate they’ll add it after it has been replaced by Stratus IRL

That would drive me completely crazy

In addition, frankly, this update would be the perfect time to add a whole bunch of new anti-ship missiles. We have the Rafale M for France, the F-18E for the US and potentially the Gripen for the Swedes, three aircraft that can all carry anti-ship missiles. I don’t know when the next opportunity will be to have so many aircraft added to the game that can fire these missiles.

What specifically do you have in mind for the hornets/superhornets?
They have quite a lot to offer

I had the AGM-84 Harpoon in mind for the F-18; it remains one of the most iconic American missiles in this field.

And for the Swedes, I was thinking of the RBS-15.

that specific variant is still WIP, so that’s maybe why devs don’t accept base/weight BR yet,… but the comment from BRM#2 is quite empty too on the reason why it shouldn’t be accepted,…

Could the rafale M get any exclusive weapons that the normal F3R doesn’t?
