“I wouldn’t go that far. Superficial similarity does not mean identical or even similar performance.” The Rafale has a higher thrust too weight. Remember although the typhoon has an extra 1.3 tons of thrust it is also 1.7 tons heavier.
that thrust is for each engine. so its really 2.6 tons more thrust
Idk what you mean, but I do know the Rafale’s enigines produces 14660 kgf(Should be 15000 but whateves) and weighs 9550KG empty but with pilot and gun ammo. This equates to a T/W of 1.535
As for the EFT’s they produce 17340 kgf but weighs 11300 empty but with pilot and gun ammo.
Giving it a T/W of 1.534. Yes, lower than the Rafale by 0.001
Btw I never said the Rafale should out preform the F-15E in this aspect for the record, I just said it that it does. Funnily enough its a win, win for me. This means in a way the Rafale is not overperforming since the F-15E has better energy retention in game than the Rafale and according to the funny document that’s how it should be kind of. I think it is also important to note high energy retention does not exactly lead to good STR, it can contribute to it but is not a direct result of it.
Should be 11000 for EFT. They refuse to correct the weight like they did for the Rafale
They have already explained why this is not the case Morv.
They did not.
Sources give 11000. It was fixed to 11300. That is not correct.
No reason has ever been given for where that 300 comes from
I mean, do you have anything that disputes what the developers wrote? They looked at the multiple sources stating 11,000kg, and also looked at a report stating 10,995kg and concluded to this
Guns and Pilot’s also weigh a bit.
nvm acutally
Gaijin guesstimate. Not evidence. Sources state 11000. (10995) Gaijin thinks it’s 11300
They just like nerfing the EFT
TLDR. They think it’s marketing lies (also the DAs were likely heavier than production airframes)
Riddle me this, if this is not the weight for the DA7 is the actually weight for the current Typhoon find me the correct weight for the DA7 or in game Typhoon that specifically states the variant.
Flame tried.
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/D32jwFfYLKDZ
What dropped for 11700 to 11300 instead of the reported 11000
Because we know the DA7 is lighter but we only two number’s given, the greater than number and less than number. The DA7 will be the less than number and the new Typhoons by process of elimination the greater number. Its also important to note Gaijin may have source you may not be able to see or know about.
Why?
Da7 likely is heavier. Because it would had test equipment and non refined/not final production equipment installed. Resulting in a greater weight
Unless you have a primary source that clearly states the weight is 11300 and not just parroting Gaijin because hello… Gaijin is the worst researcher in the world. Just look at BOL
In a funny manual dated 2003 that I don’t want to post here for very clear reasons but you cant easily find by searching up for the DA7 it does state 11300kg empty and it defines what is means by empty pretty clearly. You can have fun with that info.
I already feel i have said too much lol
So… Classified docs. Given they can’t be used… I guess we should go for remaining sources.
Though… Those primary docs apparently factor in things that Gaijin does not… So actually might be 300kg higher than what Gaijin sets it too
Anyway this is the Rafale thread. If you have a primary source for it being 11300 please post it on the typhoon thread. In the meantime. I will continue operate under the assumption that Gaijin “marketing lies” it again
You know that’s 1.3 tons per engine right?
2.6 tons to 1.7 tons. Higher TWR.
Just do the maths with the current in game Empty weights of both and the current given thrust of both. Idk what else to tell you. Because idk what you mean by 1.3 tons per engines? The single engines of both produce greater than 7 tons of forces
