Yeah… But I just think there is a failure to grasp that Spice-250s were I think a matter of last resort. Not just added for the sake of it.
Find me 1 person who prefers Spice-250s over Brimstone 2s.

There would be an issue, EK doesn’t exist until 2030 and the F4.1 exists now.
True, and I wonder if they’ll give it a new radar name, atleast in the files since only the F4.1 is intended to have a certain A2G radar mode.
Yeah probably. But that « last resort » should rather have been the introduction of a more realistic Brimstone implementation, even if tweaked in a way that made it fit for the game. I guess you agree with me on that point.
As you can see, I have even reported for all air to ground munitions to be removed from the French Mirage 2000-5Fs although was a dead-end effort and pointless since the French DGA ended up testing AASMs on the Mirage 2000-5Fs anyway before transferring them to Ukraine.
Mirage 2000-5F should not have air to ground armaments // Gaijin.net // Issues
Sometimes we should prioritize realism even if it’s inconvenient.
Yeah… alas… even with LOAL coming… Even Mode-2 Brimstone 1s are off the table apparently.
I would normally agree.
If the situation was the EFT getting Spice-250s alongside FnF Brimstones 2s. Then sure. I would vote to remove them. But they are a placeholder for an actual. real. tested. in service. A weapon that isnt even here in its weakest and most limited state (SAL). I would have prefered PW4s to be a GB exclusive, just to add a bit of flavour between trees
Sometimes, necessity just needs to take presedence. Like for example. The Rafale getting Magic IIs instead of MICA IR? If im not mistaken, it never used them?
Rafale F3R? No. But it still can we have some Magic 2s still in reserve afaik. And Rafale F1 and F2 afaik still used them for a time.
Yeah, the UAE’s Al-Tariq bombs could have been reported as soon as Gunjob made the internal report on the AASM’s IR seeker (going off of Gunjob’s own public statement in the german discord server where he had admitted to making the internal report), but it would feel sleazy, I’d much rather just have the AASM’s IR seeker made correct and just use those.
Was a report asking for Brimstone 2 ever been made?
Remained in use until MICA IR was introduced - I couldn’t find anything about capability removal though.
Gunjob internal most likely. But even with SAL Brimstone 2s. I think Spice-250s or an equivalent FnF would have still been necessary.
It actually did, it was reported during dev server I believe with pictures of M F1.
Fun fact, when rafale marine were delivered to the navy in a very tight schedule, they were only able to use Magic 2 for a short while before MICA EM were officially added, and only on the wingtips.
Even in this state, it was still a huge revolution compared to their previous F8P which were not even equipped with flares (this was in the 90s btw)
Which probably would not matter, as the devs kept the Mirage 2000-5F R530 loadout, when the actual connectors of the missiles were removed, so it actually should only carry MICA and Magic 2s. A report was made and refused, because it turns out it’s actually kinda hard to demonstrate removal of capability without say, the Manual
Because the main use case for air to ground munitions in game is unfortunately on moving vehicles in active close quarters combat, which is also the most unrealistic use case for most air to ground munitions in real life, so while the hammer’s real performance may be a buff when considered objectively based on role, in game it would be a blanket nerf.
Not really, thanks to AASM LIR, there will not be much of a compromise, it would behave as explained above for countering SPAA, and when there is a need to destroy moving ground targets, using the laser would guide it and that is it.
…Which is not in game
So again, a realistic AASM would be a compromise (and in game a blanket nerf).
